We didn't have free school lunches when I was a kid. When I heard about it, my first thought was "I didn't have lunch when I was a kid & I was fine." Then I remembered that I compulsively overeat because I am subconsciously terrified I won't find food again. Anyways, kids should get free lunches.

You’re right, kids should always get lunch.
Lunch is dependent on your house income. It is either free or 3$
I wish it would be free for everyone
42 to go!
It's hard to help, too, as responses DO vary; a person may genuinely be fine, or they may be one "Told a funny story and everyone recoiled in horror" from an awakening.
the thermos of milk is weird though
Saying "[x] and it didn't negatively affect me" is a sure sign that [x] did, in fact, negatively affect me.
(My own personal one of these is boarding school which did, in fact, negatively affect me)
Same brother who read Machiavelli and told me he'd rather be feared than loved by his kids.
i didn't have lunch most of the time, and there was a teacher that would give out like instant ramen and stuff in their room.
...i stopped getting those after she CALLED MY MOTHER and asked to know why i wasn't eating lunch.
mom of course, denied the abuse, and the fact that -
but i was accused of lying by this teacher, so i was cut off from getting that lunch. :)
no wonder i have an issue with over eating cuz i was petrified of when i'd actually eat next.
A sound investment in the future.
I mean, he literally sang unironically about growing up okay even though he slept in a crib painted with lead paint.

1- now I got lunches.
2- I had to queue for the voucher first then go for lunch so many times all there was left were fries/chips (English)
Just five bucks left on account here, fifteen there...
The only bad part was standing in line on Mondays to put in my order for the week, when it was obvious to kids around me that no money was being exchanged.
Like not "free ice cream and snack and stuff". Like basic food that's enough to keep someone alive and kinda healthy.
People will still pay for good stuff. But food should be considered a living right. (Not just a human one)
Eating for taste and gratification? Pay.
Eating cause you're a human being with needs? Free.
Same can be done for water and housing.
As an added perk, it saves me so much time in the mornings, making breakfasts and lunches for everyone! I love it 😊
I realized very recently, I've never really known hunger (I know, not complaining!)
I always ate well as an adult, but since I eat more reasonably now, I actually get hungry sometimes.
Childhood food insecurities.
thank God we got it, though, because there was no one to help us, both Mom and Dad worked, we were just poor.
“…fine…”
