It was very poor. It's almost as if Netflix tried to give us a replacement 'Christmas' film to Die Hard, but failed to even do better than the Willis shit show anyway.
Ha yes just began watching it ….. try The Killer with Michael Fassbender oddly soothing with some moments in the form of ‘expressions’ that had me laughing despite the topic. A David Fincher film, great clips of music by the fabulous Smyths.
Agreed, he’s underrated… I finally finished Ozark and even though he’s not the villain there, it feels like a lot of that “cold & calculated” attitude translates here and he absolutely nails the vibe. 😙👌
Literally, I used to think Arrested Development or any of his standalone acts as a more… background actor were already good? But Ozark? He blew that role out of the water, truly top tier. 🤩
sooooo so so so many plot holes .. HE HAS A THING IN HIS EAR .. SHE'S LOOKING RIGHT AT HIM .. SURELY SHE CAN SEE IT .. WHY IS SHE NOT SAYING ANYTHING .. OMFG .. THERE IS A WIRE STICKING OUT .. YOU CAN SEE IT CLEAR AS DAY ... IT'S RIGHT THERE .. LITERALLY .. RIGHT .. THERE
If I was in line for that TSA checkpoint, I would have been extremely pissed off that there was only one person who viewed the x-ray, searched bags, and was responsible for feeding items into the machine. Then he keeps going on break and using his phone.
Maybe because I like Jason Bateman so much, I expected more out of the movie. There were just too many preposterous plot elements that required way too much suspension of disbelief. Ultimately, I would not give this more than a 5 on a scale of 10.
Unlike some of the posters who quibble over detail, it’s a movie, not real. I don’t care about “ that’s not how it works”. Not watching a documentary. The movie was better than the vast amount of drivel out there. Good entertainment for a rainy Saturday morning.
She strolls in Christmas morning, gone all night,Wallace says let’s open presents. 😳As she’s going in, I’m thinking what’s she going to say?How will explain? maybe just ‘I’m an assassin, leave out spy part”. Nothing, except “oh I invited a friend who’s not my type “. I think big hole.Wanna know lol
I watched it. Such a good start. It went STUPID on the plane! No, no refrigerator in the cargo hold. No, you cannot take steps down! No, you would not be standing on take off, nor would you undo the luggage netting! No, you CANNOT get in the cargo hold while taxi'ing. It sucks knowing how it works.
Jason Bateman is a good villain. It's an interesting take on the supervillain, more of a businessman trying to get a job done and not an over the top scene chewing mad man. And Daniel DeadWyler is good as the tenacious take no nonsense cop.
I mean, you’ve got to buy that vast swaths of LAX have no security whatsoever but that’s the craziest thing a movie has wanted me to accept for sake of a fun story
I like the actor enough, but I decided not to watch, figuring it would just be copaganda justifying TSA. Plus, I'm flying next week and don't want any type of foreshadowing, fictional or otherwise.
I find it easy to suspend belief when it comes to arts. It can make for a good joke. If something purports to be a documentary I'd expect plausibility but could still question it.
We viewed this Netflix flic this weekend and agree with you. It was extremely stressful and I question the studio in putting this out right at the holiday season. And it made me actually hate Jason Bateman. Although maybe that’s just the result of his acting like a complete monster.
Agreed. It kept us awake for a couple of hours, but it felt like a parody of a thriller. We literally were laughing aloud at times — the writing and plot were so goofy.
A lot of people here are responding to criticism with, “It wasn’t a documentary!” Umm, right. No one’s asking for a documentary.
I wondered that too, thought I'd missed something where it switched back somehow, but it was still the wrong one as it was too big for the overhead locker.
Hehehe .... you want stress? See if you can find an old movie called Sorcerer. 1977 movie with Roy Scheider. It is a remake of an older Italian movie called the Wages of Fear. Both are excises in extremes of stress. Once the movie gets going you will not use most of your seat.
I thought it was meh. Interesting enough to watch to the end, but just barely. Kudos though for performances by Jason Bateman for his steady, unflappable bad guy portrayal and Danielle Deadwyler (both 5 stars) who played the LA detective.
I loved the movie! It already has some haters and I don’t get why. Every movie has unrealistic loopholes, but I guess different strokes for different folks
I woke up the morning after watching it and said to my husband, “I can’t believe they spent money to make that movie!” and my husband replied, “I can’t believe Jason Bateman agreed to be in that movie!” Lol we had fun laughing at the movie and I bet TSA agents get a kick out if it.
Carry On works on many levels. Tight enough without tiring you out. Solid characters/acting/writing. Clever twists. Good pace. Even a little bit of humor.
Jason Bateman is a very good bad guy.
Taron is strong as the "put upon" hero who has to come thru.
Great job at doing a flat American accent.
In the UK the conservatives missed that point and tried to turn the Post Office into a money-making machine.
Have you heard of the worst Miscarriage of Justice in British history? Lives ruined, over £1 billion in compensation and queues of miscreants on their way to jail.
The US did nothing for two years, until "the Japs" blew the crap outa Pearl Harbour, and even then you insisted on getting your money back...with interest!
It would pay you to READ sometimes - heroes my ass 👇😒
On my list. Taking the week of NYE off to recharge and watch stressful but fun movies to prepare myself for 1/6 and 1/20. My hope is that inauguration is the lowest watch one ever!🙏🏽
Yes, a lotta stressers, but when (spoiler alert) the girlfriend convinces the super smart woman cop to let the plane take off— not even knowing if the hero even made it on the plane!— that’s where they lost me.
It does look good, but I cannot get over the name.
I presume it's a Brit thing, but it makes me thing of bawdy Carry On films. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but definitely NOT what this movie is about.
For me, a good movie, didn't think it was stressful, didn't move fast enough, Bateman played a good role, Eggerton could have been a bit better, but, still good. I would rate it 4 of 5 stars. Not perfect but entertaining. Another good series is LaPalma, 4 parts, take a peek 👌

So dumb.
Lazy writing/ plot development.
Carry on bag
No shoes really matter
He…not so much
Just finished Lioness and that show was an absolute banger. 9/10.
"Carry on ...."
Must be a reboot as most of the original actors have passed away.
😆
I preferred Carry On Camping...
I thought Carry On was pretty good. Had some slow parts but the finale was good.

Oh and let's bookend that sequence with drone shots of the jam packed terminal roadway just for verisimilitude.
Be more original America.
I happily watched Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton for 90 minutes.
1. Didn't like it
2. Liked it
3. Didn't like it
4. liked and would recommend it.
Suggestions?
Also, Jason Bateman needs more villain roles. Let this man be Norman orsborne or a serial killer or something.

Happening right now 👇😒
No number of recessions taught it anything it's who you are👇😳

Anyway, if you haven't seen it yet, you're not missing anything. It's very poor.
