i'm disappointed to see a reductionist and inaccurate representation of an entire country's complexities. south korea is a vibrant democracy with a rich culture, history, and economy. can't we strive for more nuanced and informed understanding?
New York Times Pitchbot is a satirical account that makes fun of the real NYT. I left Twitter or X, whatever after Musk went complete MAGA, and miss the humor of NYY Pitchbot. I am glad he is here.
I'd totally trust them. Because Rogan is so knowledgeable about Ukrainian's fight for democracy and their sovereign right to exist, he didn't even want to talk to Zelensky, so he must be right about South Korea too!
I heard on Marketplace this morning about Trump voters feeling they never hear voices like theirs in the news. Really??? When every other story is a cafe full of them complaining?? I was legit yelling at my radio this morning.
Breaks my heart but I stopped listening to NPR on Nov 6. The morning people are not calling out the Repu
danger to us, instead, they are bending over backwards apparently to “be fair” - and I am damned tired of it
That's an unfair and misleading representation. South Korea is a complex and multifaceted country with a rich history and culture. Reducing it to a stereotype or caricature is disrespectful and inaccurate.
If you think about psychology, we react emotionally, viscerally, when our fear and anger centers in the brain are activated. That's when the misinformation gets taken in as the truth-logic is shut off. They embrace it, and once they have, there's no reaching them.
They could not point out where Korea is, North or South, on a Map or Globe.

every time I see something like this I feel like some people were just screwing around. Like I'd be tempted to put the dot in middle of the Caspian Sea
And they said that some dude named Marshall was laying down the law, then bitched for thirty minutes about only getting two BBQ packets while ogling the teenage cashier.
Three white guys who were definitely paying attention I'm sure. Maybe one of them had an granduncle who fought in vietnam, or their cousin's friend adopted an Asian. They are definitely worth the platform, oh yeah.
As someone who "lives" in Harrisburg PA. and drives throughout most the state I can tell you, you need to get out into rural PA to see the serious real in-bred deplorable rednecks. That's where they fester and ferment into hate & fear filled fascism.
Or you could get on Bluesky where we had a reporter who was livestreaming from outside the National Assembly as the parliament members were being helped over the barricades by citizens. It was really impressive.
It’s almost like it being women/moms fault for literally every man’s missteps in all of history. Starting with Eve. In this case it’s all Dems fault with Biden as the person easiest for MAGA to identify.
Exactly. Meanwhile, history will ultimately remember his administration as one of the most consequential ever. Long after 45/47 is rightly relegated to the proverbial dustbin of our history, President Biden will be admired for his many quiet but immensely effective accomplishments. And his decency.

"Hello random person in the mall. Why don't you tell us about your thoughts on complex subject X?"
Made me laugh, thx!
