Are you havin a laugh?! Excited?? Ive watched Season 1 about 5,000 times! Never gets old and I still notice something new all of the time! Its my fave interpretation of this crazy place! 😍
Go to hell, rapist.
If Terry Pratchett had a grave, he'd be spinning in it out of shame of ever being associated with you.
Do us all a favour and take a walk into the sun.
Really didn't like the idea of KHB as Death (just the look) , but gave it a chance when I heard you personally approved. Man was i glad to be wrong wrong wrong, she was AWESOME. Every single bit of S1 casting was perfect, can't wait for S2.
I'm just glad to see #JackGleeson acting again. He's a huge talent & a lovely, kind young man…who did his #GameOfThrones job to such perfection that he was despised for it, to a depth not seen since Margaret Hamilton had to go on Mr. Rogers to cure a generation of its Wicked-Witch fear of her.
I am excited... "Sandman" has been my favorite graphic novel series pretty much since it started, and you all are doing it quite well for my 75" screen. I've watched the first season at least five times.
Gleeson was the most hateful, petulant, self-involved Joffrey I could never have imagined (okay, we don't have to imagine characters like that, we have them in politics), but yeah, getting to see him play the Puck from the comics? Awesome.
He was recently in a very camp villain role in the current Famous Five series on bbc, complete with moustache and his lunacy makes sense as a trial for Puck.
I knew something was off about you, the vibes I caught were always an off putting feeling that the Neil Gaiman people were worshiping was icky, exploitative & fake. But omg, you're actually so much worse than I ever thought.
I'm curious if it is being adapted or we are getting some mashup story... The description of Wanda sounds like Ruby from Brief Lives... I hope they don't remove Barbie, thessaly, et al.
I'm also guessing we'll get Puck attached to Nuala and Clurican in Season of Mists. But I'd like to be wrong, as A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of my absolute favorite of the standalone stories.
Does that mean that Wanda took Ruby's place in Brief Lives and later we'll get to meet her again for A Game of You? This time she won't be burned to cinders and we'll get to see her next season?
Kindly piss off with your lecturing; we will write as many fucking so-called hate comments as we fucking want. We are dealing with a bloody rapist here!
Thanks for that Mary. Funny how this place, supposedly the ‘kind’ successor to X, has little by way of kindness to spare for women (the real kind anyhow…)
I’m personally excited to see you returned to the bowels of hell from whence you came. I hear they have demented souls just waiting to stuff flaming pineapples straight up your ass for all eternity. Have the day you deserve, shitbag.
Indya Moore as Wanda is inspired casting, I love it! Genuinely stoked for this next season of Sandman. Thank you so much for casting a trans actor to portray a trans character. 🏳️⚧️ ❤️ 🏳️🌈
My wife named one of our cats Joffrey... good to see Jack's recovered from that and is back at acting. He was quite amazing in GoT, even if every viewer wanted him to die a horrible death. Art is about eliciting emotions, after all... not always happy ones.
Jaffre was a very stressful role, because people had/have a bad habit of projecting the character's persona onto the actual actor, and so Gleeson said it made him not want to act any further.
I'm so glad he's back. He played Joffrey perfectly, despite all accounts being a wonderful person in real life and I was sad to hear the fandom pushed him out of his career
Just in case you answer: do you have images of characters before writing? I'm a little fish but I don't - well I did once. But otherwise I don't know how they look. Do you think it helps?
You best close your account here. If you show up we are ALL coming for you. And I swear to all I hold dear, if I ever see you in public I will hold you personally & physically accountable for all you have done. You deserve to be in prison & I hope with all my heart that's where you end your days.
I’ll confess I was initially sort of hoping for stunt-casting Ian McShane as Odin, but Clive Russel is perfect and the rest look on point as well. Quite a coterie of Game of Thrones alums you’re assembling.
Word on the street is 12 episodes, released in three batches, not all at once. No word about a totally surprise, unexpected, and "one of my favorites" -- yeah, a target-rich environment and had hit a couple of others -- as a 13th episode, but it happened with episode 11 last time!
Never liked your work. Never read it. Hated your content. Love watching your life crumble because of your lies. Be sure, your sins will always find you.
It's truly horrifying to read that Neil Gaiman is allegedly just as dangerous to women as Donald Trump. There are no adequate words for the vile, horrible shit in that Vulture article. What a huge disappointment.
Will there be some good shit-eating scenes in it? Where Gaiman makes a vulnerable woman (who he's not even paying the money he owes her for babysitting his child) eat shit off his dick? That's what normal people do to entertain themselves after all.
I would love to have an interview or even a friendly chat with you.
Things are not quite ok for you. I don't expect you to answer me but
I love your Good Omens, American gods, Smoke and Mirrors, Trigger warning, Neverwhere and of course Coraline.
Hope you the best.
I suspect that Sandman season 2 will be the last adaptation of Gaiman's works for the foreseeable future, unless maybe he gets no money off the adaptation.
How wonderful to see Clive Russell in there! Makes me want to rewatch Neverwhere - although, to be fair, the *existence* of Neverwhere makes me want to rewatch Neverwhere!
I feel Neverwhere lost out from being ahead of its time. The big Urban Fantasy boom was just around the corner (Buffy aired, I think, a couple of year later, and then there was a huge vampire fad in the next decade).
I think Neverwhere definitely deserves a reintroduction or better yet, a remake. Some of the best urban fantasy/mythology ever created. (But who could do justice to the Marquis de Carabas now? Maybe Ncuti Gatwa? Rege'-Jean Page?)
I think this is all absolutely right. I'm just glad it exists in the form it does. I have so much nostalgia for it and am secretly glad it hasn't yet been remade.
You are often right, but I do not think you have ever been more right than this.
Paterson Joseph as the Marquis de Carabis is... (fans self, repairs to the swooning couch).
I seem to recall an interview with him where he said he drew some inspiration from Jon Pertwee's Doctor. I can see that.
I saw him live a few months ago, doing his one-man show about Charles Ignatius Sancho, and came away thinking, welp, that certainly did NOT cure the crush I've had on him since Neverwhere.
I saw him live in 2022 and he literally went 'ah, the coat that would make shaft and blade ask where you got it' when I asked him a neverwhere question.
That one episode of Grantchester in season 4. His American accent is just... it's painfully cringe. The only time I don't enjoy him immensely is when he's doing it.
Oh, he really is! I watch it every few years and its lost none of its magic.
I was in a discussion about Doctor Whos who never were a while back and he would've been SO great... except how could he have played it other than as de Carabas?
When I first watched Neverwhere I thought "He's like the Doctor, but mean!" and wished they would make new ones with him as the Doctor (but nice). Half of that wish came true :). I still think he'd make a great Doctor.
The problem is that it looks incredibly rough to watch now because it was made with a budget of 50p and it was filmed with a camera made out of a potato.
and it was such a shame because the sets and costumes were *amazing* (I got to go on set to interview Neil one of the few days they weren't filming on location because they decided taking journalists down a sewer was a bit *too* on the nose)
I rewatched it recently, and I find the current streaming version a big improvement over the DVD -- they seem to have applied the visual filter that was intended but left off the original release.
Your poor poor child. Those poor poor women. Count yourself lucky you didn't encounter me, as even your darkest imagination couldn't conjure up what delights I'd have in store for any man who tried any of that with me.
I know this is a very "wait and see" thing but should I be worried that Wanda is being folded into Brief Lives as it appears if I am a big Game of You fan. I've wanted to see Barbie's dream world on screen for many a year.
Ah! I just realized last night that Freddie Fox was in House of the Dragon and kudos to him for his ability to be The Most Loathsome Little Turd on Slow Horses to his affable turn in Dragons.
He’ll make a terrific Loki.
I’d guess quite a few would unretire for a Gaiman show.
The Nevers! Another great show that was relegated to the dustbin of idiot network leadership and (cough) creator, um, issues. 🤦♀️
Based on this casting news I’ve got a good guess which stories are going to be adapted and I am so, so happy for you Neil, so happy for everyone who’s going to experience them for the first time, and everyone like me who read them and wished the whole world could know them too. 🍾
I have season 1 on bluray, but I haven't watched it yet. Hoping to get season 2 so I can watch all back to back. Great actors. I've been trying to get hold of Steve Coogan to thank him and John C Reilly for, "Stan and Ollie," which I found very moving... but can't even find a fan e-mail address.
Yes, Puck! Rather excited to see my fave literary character both on tv and heading up my current favorite game, Nightingale. I do wonder if your account of him played inspiration to the @playnightingale.bsky.social Devs.

It would boil.
Also the not-so-secret rumor is that Season 2 will wrap up the story.
Clive Russell Vs Bill Nigh, tough call
Freddie Fox will also have a hard fight Vs David Tennant in my head
Plus Paterson Joseph is hot AF as the Marquis de Carabas.

Also he and Olivia Coleman in Green Wing are my one true pairing.
I have said too much but I spoke my truth.
If you've never seen him on stage, you should.
Shit, I really have to dig out my old DVD!

And Anne Skelly was my favorite part of The Nevers.

I'm not complaining.
So, what else is going on?
