Those of you who have Amazon Prime Video subscriptions: if you enjoy dark comedies and mysteries, I heartily recommend the new Australia detective series DEADLOCH, which creator/producers Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan describe as “a feminist noir comedy.” 1/2

It’s so good, hitting all the usual brilliant notes the Kates do. As a Tasmania , I approve! It was filmed in my local area, with bits of the town I grew up in, so location spotting was fun.

I watched Deadloch back in June, assuming the entire series was available...and I thought episode six was a season-ending cliff-hanger. I was massively annoyed. And then relieved and delighted a week later when episode seven was released.
It's one of the best shows of the year.
