My “there is no kill switch” ad has people asking a lot of questions already answered by my ad

Trust in US military hardware has eroded that much in the last two months that even the official account of Lockheed Martin feels compelled to deny the existence of the kill switch in the F-35.

As a British person I highly doubt we can keep using US made Trident any more because, whilst there's probably no kill switch, I doubt we'd be able to service it for any length of time if the US didn't want us to.

Same with the F35s.

Saying the “Pentagon can’t” seems like it’s missing the point though.

Like, eventually the mad king (possibly through the Pentagon) could induce Lockheed Martin to kill-code the planes.

The engine is very non-trivial, but could be managed by UK/EU, maybe. It's the software side that could get thorny. But it's for action against Russia w/out US they need quantity rather than capability.

Yes definitely, I wonder how much that's already happened with software, but I do not know how locked down it is or how much effort has gone into bypassing restrictions. Trying to redo it from scratch sounds fascinating and nightmarish at the same time.
