I watched this for the first time about 7 years ago, on a big cinema screen, and I was blown away. Sometimes the classic lauded movies aren’t all they are cracked up to be, but this one far surpassed my expectations. The movie is flawlessly executed. A fucking joy of cinema. It’s impeccable.
I still like to see Jaws once or twice a year. Even with somewhat primitive special effects, it's still scary and really well acted. And "we're gonna need a bigger boat" is still the best line ever.

My gen z kids know that ghog day means repeating something over and over... They don't know it means a ghog comes out and sees its shadow or not. Nutty.
That's awesome and I'm stealing that for the mid terms 😂. Not sure if you've heard of this but someone made a fan edit of the Hobbit films with color correction and all the extra non book related stuff removed. It's about four hours long and lots of fun.
One of my favorite movies of all time, which I just saw again with a Q&A by writer-director-editor John Sayles, is LONE STAR (1996). It’s as excellent and meaningful as ever.
Outstanding Kris Kristofferson, with early Chris Cooper, Joe Morton, Elizabeth Peña, Frances McDormand, Matthew McConaughey.
Jaws. Thirty years ago, my kids mocked me when they caught me watching such an old movie. Ten minutes later, they were staring rapt at the screen. They stayed that way to the very end. I think most of Spielberg's early movies are like that.
