Watched Monty Python & the Holy Grail tonight.
Remembered my dad took me to see it with him in the theater and cried laughing at the moose credits.
Nothing had ever been made like this movie before.
It’s still great even after seeing it dozens of times.

Gotta say, though, the Witch Scene is not as funny now that its kind of reasoning is running the government...
Life of Brian was "meh" in comparison
not sure how/why that happened I guess the writing itself really
Write that out 1000 times.......you're a very naughty boy.....
Born in 1960, I grew up listening to him - one of the all time greats.
Still listen to his stuff frequently.
I have had to resort to searching for the old episodes of Monty Python ever since Trump got back in the WH.
To save what is left of my sanity.
The last time I used Python as therapy was when Bush started the Iraq War.
John Cleese saved me
Just as funny, but different
"Why?"
"He doesn't have shit all over him."
😂😂 Love this movie!
Bravely ran away away.
When danger reared it's ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
Swiftly taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat.
Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin!
Life of Brian!
One of the best films ever made.
Hilarious.
And actually still relevant today.
"He's not the messiah...
He's just a really naughty boy!"
It’s truly funny from start to end.
could you imagine the fun
Prolly the best movie ever made.
'Your father was a blueberry and your mother was a gooseberry.. I fart in your general direction!'
Classic 🤣 still remember those bits years later.
Slightly too young too have seen the first time round but the films certainly had an impact on me
Just re-watched the french castle scene.. still holds up! 😂
Timeless humour ..
In these troubling times ..
Need the Popular Front of United States of America
And draw up a list of demands to put to #Shitler
And the People's Front? Splitters!!
so the movies have to…
IF you don't find them funny, I question every life decision you have ever made.
I liked monty python, but I dont want it to be "necessary" for a good life.
The Pythons were a gift to us.
The police in the final scenes are real
So why not eh?
"We found this spoon sir"
🤪🤪🤪🤪
“I’m not”
“It says ‘Romans go home.’ “
“No, it doesn’t.”
My mother laughed all through the Latin lesson. Very unlike her and a great memory for me. Thank you, MP.
Been stuck in my head recently
The Brits sure know how to make comedy sketches
I was fuckin dying and I've seen it like several dozen times
Although, I had to suffer - as my parents had to - the films being quoted *endlessly*. No regrets.
"...let's see..I think it was get shot...stagger...stagger...stagger...crawl"
"This is "Mr. Prostitute"
Madeline Kahn being interrogated(keel hauled): "Now that you mention it...maybe someone did pop by and rape me..."
And on and on...and on
But what do you think? I’d totally be up for this. 💪🏻💙
But Life of Brian is the only movie where I actually fell out of my chair! The Biggus Dickus scene already had me laughing uncontrollably, but at Pilate's "He has a wife," I lost it.
All the Mel Brooks movies, Pryor and Wilder movies, Caddyshack, and of course Monty Python.
The others are "Blazing Saddles" and "Young Frankenstein".
i still laugh at the dead parrot sketch.
Terry Gilliam is a great director.
I love Time Bandits, The Fisher King and 12 Monkeys.
Blackadder.
Black Books.
Spaced.
My number one always
Every
Single
Time.
I miss him every day💔
He basically funded that.
The ultimate edition has a soundtrack, half of it is new stuff like another comedy album.
Now I do. My rinse and repeat with them is Life Of Brian, specifically because I catch something new every time I watch it. I recognize a joke or gesture I missed.
My husband and I quote lines from this movie all the time. #1 all time favorite. Your dad has excellent taste and you both share the great memory of a laugh.
"...let's not bicker & argue about who killed who..."
“I am your king!”
“We, I didn’t vote for you…”
