this is a good example of the hole many people have fallen into where they get so spun around that they think there’s some kind of radical badassery toughness to insisting that Trump has total power and nothing anyone’s does matters.

Some of us are terrified that y'all think MAGA didn't learn its lesson the first time.
Trying to skirt the law and listening to the courts stopped them the first time. This new version seems to understand that the rule of law is optional for people in power. Its voluntary. It always has been.

Dangerous cowards, but cowards nonetheless.
The point of figuring out the steps is to figure out where to jam a crowbar into the machine. Screaming in terror does nothing.
In the latter case, we can jam it up in the courts. So yes, that's how we stop him. For now.
Whatever frustrated him during Term 1 is being swept out before he begins Term 2.
When I look around to see what might constrain him, I see precious little. He's immune; he's purging military leadership and putting stooges in their place; he's filled the judiciary w outlaws; the experts will be flushed out.
Who's gonna stop him?
Arguing that the legal system doesn't matter also means that Trump is just a fat guy with bad skin howling at the tide like King Canute.
And please spare me the "THERE WON'T BE MIDTERMS" bullshit and refer to my first point: that ~20 months isn't enough time to dismantle everything.
The SC was lost in '16, so no use crying over that anymore.
"You can't trust anything and all is doom."
That doesn't sound right...
"Trust me!!"
...
Don't necessarily think they're selling civil war, despair, or maga worship, but the anime avatar doesn't help.
Maybe all their dire predictions will ultimately come true, but they can feel free to scream 'I told you so' after we've fought them all the way.
There's simply no upside to the alternative.
Ya, no.
I ask, "Who's gonna stop him?"
Cops? hahaha
Military? not any more
Congress? if they don't empower him he'll just take power
Courts? he's immune
etc.
I'm not a Debbie Downer but let's be realistic about the challenges
and also keep ourselves safe
What happened to the Jews who stayed too long?
Trump 2 - Trump's inept leaders just won't get much shit done
who's gonna stop them?
Mike fucking Pence saved us from a Con crisis last time.
They chose loyalists this time. People loyal to Trump or loyal to money. None loyal to the Constitution.
If he just says, "Eff the Senate, these people are all confirmed now," what's the mechanism that could stop them from occupying those positions?
Orders the generals to fire on peaceful protesters, after purging and replacing the top brass?
I get wanting people to be optimistic for the struggle ahead in the face of a threat but you're not wrong.
