7/ called everything off you’d still have a significant period of shortages locked in. And obviously that’s not going to happen. We will also almost certainly see a limited version of the supply chain snarls we say during the pandemic. There are reports of some containers simply sitting or …

So they will, so long as there are buyers in non-tariff ports, just move to wait in another place.
If you look at this snapshot, off Holland, you can see how it ought to look in a busy port.
It will be bad.
Our containers from China have been taking 45 to 60 days, most coming in thru CA ports.
I wonder if we'll be able to get better tariff having them come in via Vancouver.
We have a Canadian subsidiary. Not sure how that works tariff-wise
Like I said we do have a subsidiary in CA where we also do business. So if we officially received the goods there, nothing would be illegal about it.
The 2022 west-coast port traffic jams were caused by loaded containers piling up inland - so the explanation went.
Supply chains take a long time to stabilize from any volume swing.

Anything that hurts our economy helps America and the cause of democracy. I am absolutely thrilled to hear this news.
Just wait until Christmas with the toys

I think there could be, not just supply chain disruption but supply chain collapse. If there is some walk back (there’ll be no “agreement”) even in May, it’ll be end of year or first of next before some products are available again.
Retailers are already pulling back on advtg - what do they have to sell and at what price? All unknown.
This isn’t a spigot you can turn on and off at will. It’s effed up with Trump’s name all over it.

The stuff that weighs a lot simply is going to be missing from the shelves.
~12.5 lb/cubic foot is IATA standard (~167 kg/m³)
E.g., the common Boeing 777F freighter's volume/payload is approx 163 kg/m³.

The opposite example is cement.
All the cargo planes in the world are already operating, where are you gonna find spare capacity?
Is the USAF gonna be importing TVs?
Would anyone be surprised to find out Pete Hegseth filled a C-5 with Chinese single malt, and 65" plasma tvs?
The WSJ ran this:
Maybe as media has fragmented, we sorted ourselves to hear what we want to hear
Recall that Fox was nervy about calling the election in 2020 and lost viewers when they reported 1/6 accurately for a while
Will it withstand empty store shelves, high inflation, business closings and job losses? We'll see

Stop and take a breath.
We will be FORCED to "stop and take a breath" - especially those who are losing their livelihood over this insane, inept, malevolent, illegitimate 34x convicted felon and insurrectionist in the Whitehouse. 🤬

Once they get wind of possible impending shortages, they will buy more in order to be prepared. Ergo, stock may be eaten up faster than normal.
Trump has screwed
This Country
to say it will be bad is an understatement
And people will begin to seriously freak out 😵💫
Especially those not paying attention 🙄
Check all consumables -- diapers? tampons? -- to see which are made in China.
Morons shocked, angered and deprived:
“Who saw that coming”??!
Hard to imagine the carnage if half the workforce in a state became un- or under-employed within the next 2 weeks.

You won't be Westerners much longer.
1. no business has been able to to any planning—and will be leery of acting even if he calls off all the tariffs because he’s so erratic
2. containers! they’re going to be stacked in storage, they’re not just ready to go if things change…
4. again, containers! containers are still moving elsewhere, getting booked for EU or other trips, which means they’re not available for US shipping
