Dark skies reflect my sadness at the firings of all the humans that help keep the #GreatLakes as healthy as possible. Tonight I mourn the loss of the 14 @usfws.bsky.social employees that kept the invasive sea lamprey at bay. My fishery will be hurt. π’π’ππ

It was after that when a strong govt. push to clean up our lakes, rivers & air happened.
I fear it will all go backwards now.

So much changed for the better after that ad, though.
Now we're going to lose the environmental protections.
No regulations = companies can dump their chemicals into rivers and lakes, emit god-knows-what into the air, raid public lands, etc
they don't give a π© about any of it
I am so sorry, Lake Michigan. Our beloved Gulf of Mexico has also been having a difficult time of it. But remember, water is stronger.
Sea lamprey!!!

They also fired the USACE people holding back the asian carp at Chicago. Once that fails all the Great Lakes will suffer a shock way bigger than the lamprey and zebra mussels combined.

Trump & musk are traitors.
Tell them you want your workers back.
Last week another driver "accidentally" ended up in the lake
It's up to us to save it

MAGAs need some back to basics education. This is just simple stuff but too far for them to grasp apparently.
Remember!
Our local spouse abuse shelter is in danger of closing due to cuts.
Are we "Great" yet?
Take your pick.

I'm just wrecked right now. My beautiful Michigan. π₯Ί
I spent most of my childhood in Michigan - Oscoda twice, Marquette, and Kalamazoo. We were always within an hour of a Great Lake. I loved it there.
Side note: My husband, daughter, and I will be in Kalamazoo this June for a play the kiddo is obsessed with. I was wondering if there's anything in or around Kalamazoo you'd recommend we see or do? Daughter is 12 btw.
I was just researching today and saw your comment lol
Bronson Park, located downtown, is pretty.
There's a zoo in Battle Creek, about 1/2 hour east. If you go west just over an hour, there's a state park in South Haven with a nice beach right on Lake Michigan.
A kick in the crotch 14 times.
How does this help?
