Ooh I guess it's cuz he's so old he's so so oooooooold. He's so old so he doesn't understand technology. Got it. I'll tell you what he did understand: A government shutdown would have been a gift to Donald Trump and it would still be shut down. No info in, no info out. No federal courts by now.
His staff should have advised him of this. There are a lot of reasons to not like Schumer but his inability to use a video camera is really not one of them.
Careful Ron, criticizing or speaking poorly of Schumer will whip up the DINOsaurs into a frenzy. The only thing more effective is saying David Hogg three times and they lose their farkin minds.
Grandpaw, your social media game needs a reboot! Classic rookie. Next time, aim those wise old eyes at the lens—your fans deserve the full grandpaw experience! 🎥
We had an entire pandemic to figure out our Zoom angles (And at home setups. And correct on-camera eyewear) wtf is Sen. Chuckles, a professional communicator, even doing?

Imagine, a party so breathtakingly ineffective that even a man who incited a riot, is extorting Ukraine, alienating allies, botched the economy, is STILL polling higher in popularity!
This is not a thriller, not a comedy—just a slow, stumbling walk into the Twilight Zone of political incompetence.
Yes. It’s time for a new generation of Democrats if only for the fact that the paradigm has flipped on its head.
But can we stop disparaging Democrats who have tried their best, as a reflection of the lives that they’ve been born into, to deal with this unprecedented coup?
I see your point. But hopefully these same people will have the fortitude to give up the power they’re so conscious of and are clinging so forcefully to, for the good of the country they used to serve so well.

Seriously, he is one of the reasons I left the Democratic party after 40+ years and registered as an Independent. Time to pass the torch to those who know wtf is going on.
Clarification. It's ok, to struggle with new tech. I worked with a respected older cardiologist, who had trouble with the new computer charting. His solution? Hired a scribe. Continued to be a great cardiologist, while recognizing his need to find a way to adapt.
Schumer seems unaware he's lacking.
One has to be 25 to run for Congress 30 for Senate and 35 for presidency. Social security can begin at 67. So people who will be 70 at their swearing in should be serving their last term for any of these positions. Young people should be interested in their futures, or they might not have a future.
It is called being media-savvy. It would be understandable if a video feed from your home or office desk was a new thing invented a couple of months ago. But this tech has been out there, especially for people in high government positions for 30+ years. I was doing this on ISDN in the early 90s.
You have a tough row to hoe. Sending positive vibes to you & hubby. 💙
My husband is 82 & for the past year and a half has gone through a number of serious medical issues—recovery has been slow. Luckily I am in good shape & still sharp. Bodies deteriorate at different rates, but Schumer needs to go!
So, Senator flip-phone Schumer is going to lead us out of this national nightmare… ya think?
He’s a total embarrassment. How many Dem senators are required to vote to replace him?
He’s lost without Pelosi giving him the strategy, the narrative and the methodology. Lost. Old. Out of date. Slow. Energy less. Always this screenshot of the top of his head….And the glasses!
Here’s another (Jesus, every day)
an example that this twat is so old and so out of touch, and there’s no idea what the hell to do in 2025 in politics or even on a fucking Zoom call!
…this is part of the problem w/politics/politicians in general…they’re too f%!?#% old to understand what’s actually going on in the world. Term/age limits for congressional, cabinet and presidential offices would be something worth seriously considering.
Ideally, as Senate Minority Leader, YOU WOULD LEAD.
Not write letters, we all do that.
LEAD.
You're not a LEADER and you need to step down from your leadership position.
Period.
So true! There are a lot of people that don’t ever look up. Or they have their chin up showing their neck. Or even worse they are so close to the camera their head is huge! 🤷♀️
It's pychological. He's saying to Trump he should climb down and to the left. As all intellectual voters know, down and to the left is where the Holy Grail of politics sits: Up and to the right are gaslighters, narcissists and billiionaires. The further right the more corrupt and anti-establishment.
How are you going to win if the majority of the voters in the party can't stand the leader in the Senate? Think he'll ever get it? I'm starting to think he's on Trumps team.
After decades of the Democrats playing possum, even when they had power, has led me to the same conclusion. Many of the DINO’s in the party are in cahoots with the Republicans.
i used to have media training when when i was working at a company in the early aughts. i was the nerd that they sent on ride-alongs while wardriving to map open wireless networks.
then i do did security awareness segments for a tv station in Boston but i haven't been asked to get trained in years!
Well played sir. For those who don't know, during jury selection and testimony, liars are known to look toward to the left, as if searching for a response.
The thing is, the camera is actually positioned just fine. But he is insisting on looking at his own face on what ever he's using as a monitor, instead of AT THE CAMERA. Fking amateur.
I’m older, & I accept my limitations with tech, so should he. Retire, & coach a new crop of younger ppl to run & win elections. Schumer has a lot of knowledge to pass on to the next generation
That's exactly how I feel and I'm not even quite 60! I tried to keep up when I was working, but that fell by the wayside when I left to raise my kids. Now when I have to actually participate online, I have those same kids help me - they are 18 and 21! He should have called in his aides to help.
Exactly!! I had to ask my 28 yr old how to keep all of my doors on my car from opening for a safety precaution, it was simple, but not for me. I’m 64 & I know exactly what you mean
Does he think we can't remember his vote on the CR? Or worse before that holding hands with who remembers who after T***&'s Inauguration saying, "We will fight and we will win". It would've been adorable but for the times. Schumer was great in his day. Time to retire.
Give him a break. Just cause you figured this shit out doesn't mean all of us 70 somethings understand how to use a computer without one of your Senatorial Assistants standing next to you. He is human.
#NewYorkers how soon can you organize & get to his offices? If they cut off Medicaid, & tariffs kill the shipping, railroad, & trucking industries, that's a LOT of people struggling in a very short time. Chuck can't find the camera & his bank account is stacked, is this who we want leading us thru??

"Yes. It’s time for a new generation of Democrats if only for the fact that the paradigm has flipped on its head."
But, if I remember right, it is other Democratic Senators who vote for their Leader.
We can ALL voice our opinions directly to our Senators, I think.
Disparaging the party?

Bro, that’s never actually worked and it’ll work even less now because Trump can’t read.
And if Trump went after him and imprisoned him - it would be the only time we all collectively celebrate something like that.
