The Dems' primary objective is to protect capitalism by any means necessary, a trait they share with the Reps. The specific mechanisms and manifestations thereof are where they differ from Reps, and so it goes with the donors as well (those donating to both notwithstanding).

The Dem donors may seek different outcomes from the R donors, but still viciously oppose anything that would harm their wealth. Thus the donors are fine with Dems - and their lesser objectives - losing as long as their capital is untouched. That is the bipartisan doctrine.

I can tell if it's the candidates are more conservative, the consultants are worthless at best or Republican double agents at worst, or both.
