Picked the bee balm & coneflower because they don't need to get cold to grow, & I could buy a shit ton of them for a price we could afford.

Too, sprawl can be much like urban environments, but town or county leadership in these places might not be as equipped as a city government to do any work like this.

Polemonium reptans, Packera aurea, Potentilla canadensis, Viola ssp., Polygonatum biflorum (deer do eat that one), Polystichum acrostichoides, Phlox divaricata (rabbits do eat that one)... try the groundcovers list from Toadshade, picking shade plants
