I remain gravely concerned by today’s welfare announcement, to put it mildly.
Cutting social security for disabled people will only deepen poverty and inequality.
This wasn’t in our manifesto and it isn’t what people voted for when they elected a Labour government.

At the moment you are a member of a right-wing party engaged in a brutal war on the most vulnerable members of society.
The only things that really matters are actions, not words in a social media post.
My chronic illness won't get better. Stress & anxiety make it worse.
It's fibromyalgia that stops me working not being "disincentivised" by the benefits system.
#taxtherich
PIP is a gateway to the support I need, blue badge, access support etc which helps me to save my limited energy so I can be a good boss instead of on my disability.
Kendall didn’t mention any of that.
The labour party that once looked out for those in society needing help is long gone, never to be resumed.
With respect, surprised meals, drinks etc MPs and Peers enjoy would be a place to start. Most of us manage on a cheap sandwich or tin of soup during the day. It needs an MP to stand in the House and say it. It could be you 🤷🏻♂️
All the clues were there, and there was and still is pressure to shut up about shitty labour policies because "it helps the Tories", now they're saying the same with Reform already.
Introduce PR and call another election.
You weren't elected to be "concerned", you were elected to protect the people. This isn't about your career or your feelings or sticking around in the vain hope that you can "push the party to the left" or such codswallop.
Strike fear into them, and leave.
There has to be a revolt and cross the floor
First beggared by the Labour party, then buggered.
After today I will never vote Labour again.
Robbing the sick & disabled to save the rich a few pennies is a cruelty I can never countenance.
And it's utterly self-defeating - it will simply lead to a massive increase in people using the NHS.
It's now a party participating in genocide, attacking trans people, disabled people, and refugees.
Starmer trusts Trump.
Pull the rug out from under him.
Tell them to get their whip up their hole
"We will not accept the status quo". Well the people will not accept your new status quo. You are ushering in Farage.
disgusting
cuts ,but after giving my vote since 1990 onwards to Labour ,I'll never vote for them again, not sure who I'll vote for but never again.
As a disabled person, & a parent to 2 disabled children these cuts will not make our disabilities cease to exist.
It will likely cause my children more harm, causing them to need more help in the future - which is not available.
Me?
Without this my medical conditions will get worse, leading to me being hospitalised.
There is nothing a hospital can do, other than give me meds , refer me to other depts & then discharge me.
It’s horrific
They’re killing trans kids, disabled people, elderly people and shitting on immigrants. ANd they’re doing it gleefully in full knowledge that it means death.
Govt can create as much money as it needs at will with the only limit being inflation which in turn is controlled by tax: tax the rich to protect the most vulnerable.
Starmer's Labour has confirmed my desire to see Scottish Independence.
Freeports, Blackrock, supports genocide, cuts international aid
Where's humanity, morals, .....where's the Labour Party????
Today is Starmer's ERM moment. Labour will never recover from this.
