That’s awesome. Takes me back. I remember when the clones became a thing. It was a big deal. What classic OS are you running? Based on the multicolor Apple menu I’m gonna guess 7.x.x, they changed it in OS 8 if I recall correctly.

I had an old Mac. Got it in 1986. It died the death of the sad Mac face, and when I tried to have it fixed (years later), the computer repairman said it wasn't worth it. Sadly I listened to him, and didn't have funds or room to store it anymore.

That's correct, because Apple was losing market share to the clone makers. IIRC Apple was still charging for OS upgrades then, but it wasn't enough revenue to sustain them. They also had about 100 models of Mac in production. Jobs cut it down to 4: pro/consumer, laptop/desktop.
