UK's regressive tax system.
Poorest 10% of households paid 48% of income in tax; richest 10% paid 39%.
Poorest 10% paying 12% of income in VAT; richest 10% pay 3%.
Council tax: Poorest 10% paying 7%; richest 10% pay 1.2%.
No govt plans to end inequity.

Proof of the pudding; UK is in recession, but the oligarch media are presenting it to you as 0 growth.
Window dressings makes no difference to 28000 retailers about to go bankrupt
A growth of less than 0.6% is a recession, we're in depression territory.
Condescending upon us with memes and thoughts all thought for you, won't be cutting the mustard.
You best start reading;

But with all, it does not happen overnight and needs a mindset change too.

LVT would address our issues of oligarchs buying up swathes of Blighty, sitting on it for years then waiting for a lucrative buyout offer by property developers or government projects.
If you earn an extra 40k you take home an extra 19k. Depends on your job I guess but not worth it for a lot of people
The biggest fig leaf in British political history
Still, there's a job for the royals when we abolish them.
Tax the rich shouldn't be controversial. They make their money and maintain their wealth through modern infrastructure, they least they should do is pay for it.
The SNP ScotGov has introduced more tax bands so that the better off pay slightly more.
We suffer an avalanche of Scotland is shite/SNPbad reporting to deflect the horrors of ukgov/WM politics.

You gotta remember it’s illegal for us to even carry a knife or wear armour.
On his transphobia alone Starmer is breaking the rules of his own party. Kick him out.
He's also letting Nolan slide with Streeting and stressing the Civil Service Code. Drag his ass in front of parliamentary standards.
Disgrace the man.
Righto👍
starmer party has other ideas, they got into office & you must wait another fiver years to tick a box and get the same pile of 💩 dished out to you by a different pack of middle managers.
Hold my beer!
we have a non-progressive personal income tax of 15% (and further additional employment-related taxes of course), and a world record general VAT of 27%.
Kier and Angela's magic wand hasn't produced instant results
What the hell have they been doing in the less than 6 months they've been leading the government?
Tell me all about the deliberate sabotage the tories inflicted on the economy .
Solely to wreck the policies Labour pledged to implement
Priority 1 - slag off Labour
Priority 2 - ignore the actions of the tories
Are we not allowed to look for better now? Are we expected to praise mediocrity just because it was preceded by shit?
🙊🙉🙈
Labour are pledging to tackle poverty
Pensioners are NOT poor
Some poor people are pensioners
Propose a policy to help ALL the less well off
The 'enemy' are in front of us but in less than 6 months you and the unelectable socialists are taking aim at your own side
We should give Labour free reign to be shit just becausectge Tories were worse. That's a great plan.
Now IS THE EXACT time to complain. Let them know we're not happy with their direction.
Or would you prefer we hold off until the run uo to the next election?
And how much in ££ are we losing, compared to what they should be paying?
Is it possible to have some idea of the total lost to the UK budget for public spending?
I'm assuming it could well fix the hole in the NHS, schools, etc
Gov. has no "income" it issues its own money its accounts are unlike "household budget" they've fooled you into thinking.
This Gov can fix NHS at a stroke of pen, however their oligarch sponsors have designs on the NHS, they want it privatised.
Taxes reduce "fluidity"
I despair of them!
Turnip heads!
“Income” is money coming in.
VAT is tax on money that’s spent.
So I’m still misunderstanding what the point being made is.
It’s a ratio…. If you earn only enough to pay for food then the ratio is higher than if you earned much more and paid for the same food but have more ‘disposable income’
But if that’s the case… what type of legislation are people suggesting could affect that?
This all requires improvement in registration.
Two billionaires become ½Trillionaires at everyone else's expense‼️
Council tax was a fairer idea in principle, but looks what happened with that!
But looking at % only is problematic: the new, large percentage increase in national living wage should help, but it is still less than one £ (GBP) extra per hour for recipients.
I'm hoping for more & better from UKGov, once spending review is complete.

Where is the reality and respect?
The poorest 10% pay 19% of their income in council tax & VAT but 48% of their total income on tax. Whilst earning £9.6k. Which means no income tax or national insurance
So the poorest 10% are spending 30% of their income on booze / petrol and fag taxes !?!
