I hope folks remember that boycotting is a privilege some don’t have. Poor folks shop at Walmart. Disabled folks shop on Amazon.
We do what we can. Shaming others isn’t the way.

Aldi is not in U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Washington, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Alaska, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, American Samoa, Idaho, Oregon, Guam, Maine, New Mexico, or Montana.
People born in poverty are born in a hole. They need a helping hand to level their playing field. I am ok with that but then I don't think another human getting ahead affects me negatively.
Cheap is not less expensive if you get less for your dollar or poor quality items that have to be replaced frequently.
Food and staples are much cheaper at other stores if you bother to compare.
People perceive it is cheaper.
I appreciate it. My husband has to do a lot and cover bills I can't, but even with his job, it's still hard. I've been trying to build a small crocheting business to make a little extra money, but right now, it's on hold as I'm recovering from some health issues that came up.
What if all of your finances for you and your family are tied to a regular bank?
What if where you live is so rural that some places can’t deliver to your address?

I’m OK with Target, the store is always clean & I know where everything is.
Sure I would like to subscribe to your (insert big name here) blog, newsletter, podcast; or buy your book etc...
I know some need to monetize your time here and make up what you lost from huge twitter accts.
It means making it impossible for that business to operate, or shunning a person to the point where they have to leave the community.
What most ppl call boycott these days is a childish pout.
Trust me I hate WalMart. What choice is there when towns bend over backwards to run everyone else out??
We lock hands and help against the tide,
help those who cannot swim.
Against the beast we strive.
Against the fell oppressive system.
Walmart cheats those people by not having "the lowest price in town" products on the shelve. I protest by NOT buying the more expensive item at Walmart. If I have to pay more, I go to local store and get it there.
Corporate behemoth and a religious group disguised as “good samaritans”.
The time. I’m like rich people can support the local $100 jar of honey people I’ll get the plastic bear for $5 thnx.
Either you boycott them back to the Stone Age or stop farting into the hurricane.
Support local business and farmer's markets.

However, the key important question is are we consciously shopping, and do we shop within our closet before going out to buy new things?
Like yes Walmart is awful but so is Target. But Walmart is associated w/ poor people while Target is associated w/ middle class people.

Could I avoid all of Galen Weston's stores? Maybe. But that means shopping at Metro (expensive) versus No Frills (cheap, with THREE of them near my house that are way more accessible in MANY different ways...)
I want to be noble for the cause.
I do.
Sometimes it’s impossible
Don't shame other people. We don't know their wallets or their circumstances.
I'm a NYC teacher who pays city taxes but those funds are not distributed equitable among all public schools. I work in the system because I want to make it better, not constantly criticize it.
We all do what we can.
DEI Reversals. Store’s political leanings. Products they buy political leanings.
Started using GoodsUniteUs app & Google.
Some products still loyal 2. but try 2 balance out 🤷🏽♀️ ex:$Stores🤨
I understand the sentiment and certainly won't shame anyone, but Amazon warehouses lower area wages and Wal-Marts increase prices.
It's tradeoffs. I choose not to support Bezos, who is a jerk, and treats his employees like shit. 🤷♂️
- signed, person who closed Amazon acct and has to drive 1hr+ for things
But yes, the multiple accounts is a pain.
Shipping on some of the other sites can also be a lot more.
In Texas, Walmart is getting their butts kicked. HEB is opening stores right next to, or across the street from Walmart.
The latest is a new 100k sq/ft HEB across the street from Walmart in rapidly growing Manor.
https://newsroom.heb.com/h-e-b-breaks-ground-in-manor/
Manor is now 3-times the size, and growing rapidly. HEB broke ground right across the street from the Walmart that had dominated the area for a decade.
The snowy weather in the north is also a factor.
It’s just not logical or possible for many people.
I must to survive, I refuse to feel guilty.
The problem with boycotts now is that a few corporations own everything.
There are areas in Dumbfuckistan that only have a Walmart or worse for a choice.
End Citizens United
U DON'T GO INTO THE STREETS, U CLOSE UR WALLET!!
Out Founders didn't stand up for democracy because it was easy, but because it was the right thing to do.
We are all in this fight together.
