It has come to my attention that it’s been a while since we talked about that time we adopted a very old hamster who was expected to die imminently but then he went completely bald and lived two more years looking like this

When mungo finally corked it we buried him in the garden under the thorniest rose bush we could find and now every summer we get beautiful blood red blooms
Well, except the (normal) golden hamster trait of not liking anything/other creatures/humans. I was the only being my childhood golden (Ralph) tolerated. Everyone else got the chomp!
I know a lot of people say they hate broccoli, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone actually eat broccoli like they hate it - it's as if that piece of broccoli insulted his mother and his whole family for generations, or something.
Mungo! He remains a favorite of mine from all of social media. Bald, curmudgeonly, a survivor. Truly fond of him. Miss him. Grateful for Ghost of Mungo shenanigans. ❤️
