Logistically it's easier to replace the democratic party from within than create a new party.
The amount of state laws that denote "major parties" and their rights vs "minor parties" is ... A lot. And major parties are just DFL and RNC. Starting a legally new party is next to impossible right now
Those laws are going to be used against any attempt to take over the democratic party was well, you gotta stop thinking ya can win this when they write the rules, thats why it can't be done from within the dem party, they will obstruct it
They just need to fork it without actually leaving. Just create a coalition within the party that doesn’t listen to either Schumer or Jeffries. They’re just standing there while the ship sinks and there has to be other Dems who don’t want to follow them.

Jeffries is far from perfect, but only one Democrat House of Representative voted for the bill. Schumer is much, much worse. Schumer is voting for the bill.
Schumer next election isn't until 2028. Much faster option is for the Democratic Congress people to remove Schumer as minority leader. Do what Pelosi did to Biden since Schumer can't win against Trump.
The DNC will not surrender itself to progressives. We need our own party tens of millions strong led by someone like AOC. This would force “centrist” Dems to pick between maga and progressives.
Government has moved so far to the right that anyone who opposes this administration (and that number will be growing) will be moving towards the left. Ignoring the “left” is Ignoring the best chance for a turnaround…
1/The "Democrat" brand is too damaged at this point. MAGA won't switch sides; it would be easier convincing a Met fan to become a Yankee fan. She's going to have to leave the party if she wants to build a true working class coalition.
2/The problem is that the system is built for the two parties. Third parties face too many organizational and legal challenges to succeed. But at this point, we are out of options.
Oh. Yes. Good. There were a lot of options for her to announce a run for, but that's the better one. Though it's statewide, and a good bit of NYS is blood-red, I think she'd have a better shot than Schumer right now.

Her leaving and running, say, WFP efforts would be crippling to them, though.
