Has anyone come up with things Congressional Dems can do for leverage? I don’t know anything about how the Senate works; my first thought was to weaponize quorum calls and stop giving unanimous consent to stuff
They don't want to do these things. They are okay with what is happening. At best, they think by doing nothing, people with spontaneously recognize that what is happening is bad and that it can't keep going on. At worst, they tacitly agree with everything and are content to let it play out.
Just heard from an NGO that was supposed to be doing LCA/EPD work with an EPA IRA grant. The agency didn't get the checks out the door fast enough and at least that $1.5 million was cut off. I vacillate between pissed off and bummed out.
Somebody should declare a government in exile until Trump returns to issuing lawful orders and honors the constitution. I’m not gonna hold my breath though.
Edit: AOC is the most prominent real opposition at the federal level, but there are others (e.g., Maxwell Frost, Jasmine Crockett)--mostly younger and willing to fight. I don't think AOC is alone.
It’s called outsourcing. Any number of people outside the government will need to do it. Much as I love Bluesky, bitching at the problem while running circles behind it won’t do the job.
Both tragic and amusing that you can be a misogynistic racist all you want, even a violent one. But loving another person or being your true self in any other way is not accepted. US of A is broken.
You can hear the Silent and Boomercrat knees knocking in fear as they mumble, ‘Ronald, is that you back again’, from here. Fucking useless. Just like in 1980.
AOC tried to take it and the rest of Dem leadership urgently scrambled to smack her down from that. Which is the only thing they've shown any urgency on.
She wanted to be the ranking minority member on the Oversight Committee and Pelosi et al went into overdrive giving it to a 74 year old cancer patient instead.

Entire country suffering because of Republican leadership inflicting pain on working families while favoring tax cuts for billionaires.
