Time to make a list of words with what Americans would call an extranious U, and pepper them throughout your posts. If they mock it, disparage their inferior colonial take on the English language. They deserve it.
Have you heard the song 'Why do shorties write Rhymes'
by Kokonoku?
I don't know where the sax sample is from if it is one but it
always sends me to different space entirely.
I bet you were great.
I need to find a high school concert to attend this month in my area. There’s nothing like the energy of teens who are just starting to get really good.
Remember when you could rent an apartment in Baker Street for £100p/m and the landlord would personally pop 'round once a week to wipe the black mould off the shower curtain?
No, me neither. Cue sax.
This was the first song I thought of when I saw the post. I would play this years ago with my balcony doors open. The song would almost echo in the courtyard of the apartment complex I lived in. No one ever complained. The best!
Hadn't even finished reading it and the Baker Street sax solo was screaming in my head. The poor OP isn't American and probably got nothing but Baker Street in their replies lol.
I could write an essay on how the disappearance of the saxophone from popular music marked the inevitable death spiral of modern society and a cultural apocalypse.
Totally understand this feeling. That riff was written during a time when Country mattered. Putin launched a psychological warhead against American democracy and left the victims living dead. 🧟♀️🧟. I am not living this timeline. ✊
My partner and I talk about the loss of sax in popular music all the time. I think it’s because young people only play keyboard and computer anymore. Thank god for marching bands keeping the other instruments alive.
Sax is on the rise BIG TIME in music!!! I've been reacting to lots of songs where as soon as that sax hits... I MELT!
It's that sound that warms my ears 🔥
Fun fact ...i used to win a ton of radio contests with a rotory dial...never won one with a touch tone... ok now that i read that last sentence im pretty sure that qualified as neither
Girl there's soo much good music out there you just gotta find it, I know easier said than done. Since you asked however, the universe has used me to inform you of No Excuses - Childish Gambino. You can thank me later.
I know EXACTLY what you are talking about!! ❤️Carole Kings "Jazz man" for one. There is another song that I always play the "air" saxophone to, but I can't remember the name of the song or artist.☹️
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo6aKnRnBxM Last time I was in London I played this video on my cell phone loudly, waving it about, walking south on Baker Street from the tube station...people seemed to think this was quite understandable
For a brief period the sax was a popular instrument with Goth bands. Bauhaus have some great solos and even flour-dusted Stevenage cowboys Fields of the Nephilim had a sax player in their early lineup.

*Yes, I know it wasn't Bob Holness. Though he was the first actor to play James Bond**.
