Not always easy for me either. I’m paying more and having to research every single purchase. US products are ubiquitous. Some don’t even have a Canadian replacement,so I am doing without. But it’s worth it.
Costco treats employees well but...their business model doesn't work for many potential customers. But let me say again..amazon being "better" than walmart was not meant to be taken with the deadly seriousness of the responses (which is why i dont post here much)
Better not take this man to a women's basketball game. Either he have a stroke or try to invade the locker room. Does he not know how tall supermodels are, what is wrong with him?
Transphobia against cis women is nothing new in every day life or in popular culture. See Bea Arthur to Michelle Obama. This is what TERFs and other cis women turning a blind eye to trans rights fail to recognize. Pitting Trans women against cis women benefits neither group. We are stronger together
One of the things I find interesting is that all the talk about transgender is about trans girls/women nobody ever seems to complain about trans men. No one complains about them participating in sports, using the men's room. It's all complete bullshit.
They don’t tend to participate, because they can’t, as they don’t have the male advantages, which is why no cismale would complain. Think about it. Plus they’re never trying to rape people by cosplaying as trans.
The MAGAs will flush out all those trans impersonators. It's not like there are important issues to deal with, like the imminent destruction of the planet.
Same here. Mom was 6'0". I'm 5'11". One sister is 6'0". Youngest is 5'10". Our brother is the shortest at 5'9".
Dad was 5'8". 😁
Tall women run in the family...
Walmart is loosing stock every day, it's loosing customers daily to other shops... people are showing their distaste with Walmart through shopping elsewhere... I hope she gets another job in another shop that treats her better and protects her as an employee.
Sounds like a pretextual reason for illegal termination. Other than fire her, what did Walmart do about the purported security risk? Report the incident to the police? Turn over security video to investigate? Did the supervisor report it to a salaried manager? If not, was she fired too?
Sorry to hear that.Management needs to post signs that insulting language against any employee will not be tolerated, and the customer will be removed (or banned). Management needs to enforce it, and stand by its employees.
The customer isn't always right.
Have seen people removed where enforced.
All the people claiming it affects their freedoms - insist that you lose yours. It is insane. The US claims to be land of the free home of the brave. It is neither.
Could you imagine being the dumbest person at a Walmart, making that accusation, and then causing a lawsuit which will definitely get that Walmart closed.
This is disgusting, but not surprising for Walmart. I have not and will not walk into a Walmart. The family that owns it is bigoted, racist and holier than thou Christian Nationalists. I hope she successfully sues them.
So disgusting. Sue the bastards who think they have the right to view anybody’s genitalia. They are such Nazi creepshows. Did the fuck out of them. And their mothers.
THIS is why cis women need to stand beside trans folx. They don’t ‘always know’ and they will be indiscriminate if they think a woman doesn’t ’look right’ to them. They just want to harm women. All of us.
I’m 6‘2“ and am sure that some people think I’m trans. When our kids were kids it was sometimes quite interesting to see the looks on people’s faces as they tried to make sense of what they were seeing. I’ve also had people assume that I have marfans. no, I didn’t play basketball when I was young!
A male customer followed her into the bathroom and accused her of being trans. Oh, I've had people do that to me. If a guy does that, I just kick him in the balls.... what's he going to do? Hit me inside the women's restroom? I'll file sexual assault charges on him.
Is that legal? I imagine if companies started firing Tesla owners because they were a "security risk," the entire right wing would collectively explode, but a cis woman is accused by one nutjob of being trans and suddenly she's too dangerous to employ and that's just okay?
The security risk is the crazy man screaming obscenities at the tall woman in the bathroom. Did I miss the part where he was arrested and permanently trespassed from the store? Don’t accept anything less than 7 figures. Those Waltons have deep pockets.
first of all; i would file a police report against the man that tjhreatened you. i understand you do not know his name;,. however; a description is a good start. if you have legal aid in your area contact them. then file a wrongful dismall law suit against Walmart.
Uh, I’m scared to use any Walmart bathroom, not because of my gender, but because it’s a Walmart bathroom. So this just proves my point. Also she should call the ACLU, I donate to them monthly.
Nice lawsuit on her hands there, if accusations of gender can get a person fired, someone's going to need to pay a lot of compensation when they get sued...
That’s an easy lawsuit. Not only is it wrongful termination, she can expose sexual dangers of well, men following women around Walmart and them ignoring it.
They’ve had to offer her the job back, meaning she could get a lot of money. Mostly because it would fall in line with Florida’s cis policies.
Why didn’t her supervisor inform “salaried management”? This just seems like Walmart being a snake and finding a way to discriminate against someone to make transphobes happy without being accused of discrimination.
That poor woman. Except for one purchase maybe 20 years ago, I have never spent money at Walmart--mostly because I found their wage and benefit policies reprehensible. This incident ensures I will continue in the same way.
Wait, a man went into the ladies loo specifically to intimidate a woman. Doesn't matter if that woman was cis or trans, an angry man shouting in the loos is exactly what these 'woman only spaces' 'people' should be against.
It wasn't even the incident itself, but the fact she reported it to the supervisor instead of a salaried manager.
They claimed her a security risk.
It is ridiculous reason.
This shouldn't be happening in the first place
Call the police and review the cameras.
As a 6ft tall woman, I have been worried about this scenario— we are now all susceptible to the narrowest understanding of what “feminine” means. Walmart should reinstate and give this woman a bonus- ‘cause she is about to own them in court.
I’ve said it before… if the conservative people get the bill approved that says you have to used the bathroom of your birth assigned gender, there will definitely be men in the women’s bathroom. Trans men do exist also.
Ridiculous. It's just stuffing people into tiny boxes of conformity to some stupid norm inside their head. Remember that woman who was accused of being trans because she had short hair? They want all women to look like plastic barbie dolls. No excuse for #Walmart not to stand up for their staff.
On the subject of Transgenders: Marjorie Taylor Greene's boxer style face features appear very masculine to me. Add the ape like behaviour, the gun slinging, stupid remarks all the time...It just makes you think, doesn't it? She could easily be a male MAGA truck driver.
This is precisely why trans rights are human rights. Not only because *we* trans people are valid people too. But also because by stepping over us you're also stepping over cis people that just happen to be not normative enough. Just treat people with humanity, it isn't that hard, really.
It's a damn shame that "it can happen to you too" needs to be an argument to get people to care about oppression of others. But sadly, we are a garbage species.
What makes my blood boil is that these subhuman bastards get away with attacking/persecuting good people. My level of anger is on behalf of all the other-level EVIL committed by these BASTARDS is all-consuming, triggering...and heart-breaking.
I've heard stories from a couple cisgender female friends of mine about this kind of harassment. One encounter was fairly mild, having someone intentionally misgendering her, while the other friend now tries to avoid using public restrooms at all.
You see some of the transphobes talk and they WANT cis men in bathrooms. They ENCOURAGE them to go in and shoot perceived trans people, violence against trans folks is the goal, "defending women" is just the excuse.
As a tall cis woman, I have frequently been called sir throughout my life. It is exhausting and frustrating and embarrassing. Mis-gendering someone is cruel at a minimum.
Is it equally as offensive if it’s accidentally vs on purpose? Honest question. Was in advertising and booked a ton of phone appointments, so they hadn’t seen me. Have a very deep voice and got called Glenn more than once. Sometimes it was funny to me and other times frustrating, but dealt with it.
I think it's the intent. If you correct them and they don't adjust it is devastating. I had one evening I was all dressed up for a date, my hair and makeup all done, beautiful body bodycon dresss and heels but had more than one person insist I was a man.
I was thinking about this very likelihood as I watched the wonderful and unusually tall athletes in the NCAA women’s basketball tournament. Trump singled out trans people as scapegoats and there’s going to be a lot of damage done all around.
She could have been attacked, shot, raped, and SHE got fired ??! Honey, get yourself a lawyer, a real ambulance chaser. Sue them up to their eyeballs, which are apparently the only balls they have !!!
I told my son if anyone EVER pulled that on me (I'm also tall, and not pretty at all), I would loudly holler, "Okay, you think I'm a GUY? REALLY? Well, let's see who's right!" And I would strip down to my fat, bare old lady ass in front of God and everybody.
...I had twelve interns come in for observation while I was getting a pelvic exam during labor, looking at my undersides for fifteen minutes, like I was a television. After that, my modesty went out the window.
Over here, being 5'9.5" hoping I'm short enough to not get harassed/assaulted.
I already know my short hair is problematic. As men like to tell me I'm too tall and my hair is too short all the time. 🙃

Walmart logic. Her supervisor should have reported it higher up and told her to go to the police.
Dad was 5'8". 😁
Tall women run in the family...
Absolutely nothing.
#safewithme #pride
I would also like to know why the man who tried to follow her into the restroom was not arrested?
I hope she picks the meanest one.
The customer isn't always right.
Have seen people removed where enforced.
They really needed an easy one right now.
And I said nothing

Even if the person is breaking the law in using it, the police will deal w/ it. Not you
Also -- I hope she can sue Walmart for wrongful termination -- it seems like they handled the situation terribly.
Yet another reason not to shop at Walmart.
Whats is wrong with people?
They’ve had to offer her the job back, meaning she could get a lot of money. Mostly because it would fall in line with Florida’s cis policies.
smh
They claimed her a security risk.

If you think asking a woman if she's pregnant is bad, that's nothing to. This woman lost her job because someone thought she was unattractive.
"MIND YOUR OWN DAMN BUSINESS!"
Whatever it is, it is not a crime to be transgender.

I hope she gets a good lawyer.
