Per @aoc.bsky.social and co., I'm here to celebrate echo chambers and preaching to the choir. Which sings back, beautifully. "The primary assumption behind the idea that we shouldn’t preach to the choir is that one’s proper audience is one’s enemies, not one’s allies." https://harpers.org/archive/2017/11/preaching-to-the-choir/

Being broadly in agreement but with angles, etc always been evolutionary advantageous
Start locally. Organize a monthly coffee (we use the local Dunkin.) Invite a few local electeds. Set up an e-newsletter. Grow your group (we call ours a club.)
Bottom line: there are more of us than there are of them.
At least not in any meaningful sense.
And they certainly don't swing because the guy in the other party sounds more like the guy in the party he's used to voting for.

Non-engagement here does not create an "echo chamber" it makes space for clarity.
Preach the Gospel continually. Use words if you must.
You not only write beautifully but also pose essential questions, and help us in reaching answers, solutions, without which action would be limited or impossible.
Thank you.
"Is the purpose of the choir to sing to the infidels or inspire the faithful?"
The phrase preaching to the choir "can be applied too widely, to malign conversation between people whose beliefs happen to coincide."
Indeed, within our echo chamber, we may just build a "spirited movement of resistance."

“Is the purpose of the choir to sing to the infidels or inspire the faithful? What happens if the faithful stop showing up, donating, doing the work?”
