I don’t think living here makes you a bad person. I DO think the quoted person is just some asshole. Please don’t listen to stuff like that
However, my boss is also in MN, and uses "git'er done" unironically in response to important questions about handling broken processes or sticky client situations, and voted for the guy you would expect such a person to vote for.

And most people don't want to commute from SF to SJC regularly even if companies provide free transportation
For folx who grew up here & especially before the 1990s (me b:'70 in SoCal, moved to #SantaCruz ’74), I ask y'all: hold pity not shame for us
My special sauce is I lived in Greenwich Village from age 17-19, & I learned to unfilter NYC-style at an age where I was open to seeing my old world with new eyes
