And why would anyone pull over to listen to the car radio when you're driving and listening to the car radio?
Thanks for posting this π
I cry every time I see Shug Avery throw open throws church doors, singing
And of course when Celie sees Adam, Olivia & Nettie
Tearing up just thinking about it
i recently rewatched the color purple and whoopi was resplendent.
absolutely brilliant in it
Because like...WHAAAAT?! Two entertainment GODS are going to be making this thing?
It'd blow my mind.
I still cry at the end from the bittersweet, but pure joy it evokes.
The second sentence of the post confuses me however.
You are.
Itβs okay to say Black people are amazing.
No need to mention everyone else.
Youβre just not used to people mentioning race because you treat your white race like itβs not a thing.
Why can I, as a white man, not fight racism? Does empathy not count? Humanity?
For what it is worth: I am anti racism and anti fascim.
Assuming Black people are angry is another problem..

Whoopiβs first book was the first audiobook I ever listened to. I was on a roadtrip with a couple friends and we bought it on cassette tape.
I do have one criticism though - her book led to our adopting the phrase βtree monkeyβ - which we heard waaay too often in a crowded car. π
