yeah the issue isn't that salmonella never appears here in the US, it does; the issue is that when it does, teams of dedicated civil servants track the outbreak, find the source, spread the word, and recall the bad food. and will they keep doing that? will "they" still exist in any meaningful sense?

The measles outbreak in Texas has doubled to 48 cases. "All of the cases are in unvaccinated people or those who have unknown vaccination status. Most cases are in children 5 to 17 years old. Among the 48 cases, 13 have been hospitalized."
