It's a strange thing to most Americans as well. Sheriff's are not universally political appointments. We vote for sheriff here. It depends on the State. I will admit my history isn't always as shape as it could be. There is a lot of world to learn about and American history is less interesting.

I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that I claim anything of the sort. I know each person depends on each other person. There seems to be some disconnect between us. That I worked hard and achieved some success doesn't mean I am lucky or isolated or enslaved or took advantage of others.

I'm an atheist so I don't base my decisions on myth. I didn't luck into anything. I worked and learned the system so I could use it to my advantage. Despite that and doing everything right things still don't always work out. That's just how the world is and always has been. It's not going to change.

I logged 50 hours in Project Zomboid, finished two thesis papers, wrapped Christmas gifts, meal prepped for a week, cooked thanksgiving dinner, and spent time with my kids. The only "news" I've consumed has been funny animal videos and alien conspiracy theories on TikTok. Still more informative!

The issue is American is behind on solar. If China is flooding the market with cheap goods the solar businesses in America will close and America will remain behind and dependent on China for renewable energy. Maybe try reading the story you post before you decide it's bad news.
