Judge Xinis has given the government until 9:30 Friday to provide her with an update on Abrego Garcia's location and steps they're taking to return him to the US storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

"Right now, this administration is delivering real, negative consequences for people in a way that is personal, and can be felt in their day-to-day lives. It’s Democrats’ job to make sure they know who’s to blame."

THREAD: Under a new law, thousands of prisoners in Louisiana have been cut off from ever getting a chance at parole. Why? Because an algorithm said so. 1/

"The President would look feckless if the administration tells a federal judge it can’t get its prisoner back, especially since the United States is reportedly footing the $6 million bill for the incarceration of the deportees." joycevance.substack.com/p/the-suprem...

#ProudBlue Looks like Prohect 2025 is pushing on. The EPA plans to end long-standing rules requiring polluters to report climate-warming emissions. www.propublica.org/article/trum...

The top five egg producers own roughly half of all U.S. laying hens. The biggest of those corporations is Cal-Maine, which just announced quarterly profits of $509 million — more than 3x what it made a year ago. Corporate concentration + bird flu = a price-hiking free for all.

What did Marjorie Taylor Greene know about the tariff announcements and what stock trades did she make? We need answers.

NEW: This Supreme Court Ruling could have been better, too. My latest: www.muellershewrote.com/p/is-the-abr...

Today House Republicans, cheered on by the richest person on Earth, passed a budget framework that will cut support for the poorest people in our country. All while cutting taxes for corporations and the wealthy, and massively increasing the deficit.

NEW from me - Tim Walz is headed back out on the road – this time, for a tour of House districts represented by Republicans who have stopped holding in-person town halls amid the raucous receptions some of their colleagues have gotten across the country. www.cnn.com/2025/03/12/p...

This. THIS. You guys… THIS.

Kelly: When I was flying in combat over Iraq during the first Gulf War, I didn’t expect that there was a 10-year-old kid sitting in South Africa who would one day become the richest guy in the world and call me a traitor for doing my job. Now, he kind of acts like a 12-year-old kid

Miller and Homan must be so pleased with themselves. Fucking monsters: A family that was deported to Mexico hopes they can find a way to return to the U.S. and ensure their 10-year-old daughter, who is a U.S. citizen, can continue her brain cancer treatment. www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/...

GOVERNING is negotiating with the other side when you need 60 votes and you only have 53. Refusing to negotiate when you don’t have the votes is incompetence. That is why Republicans can’t govern.

“Upon Musk’s request, Young procured a massive TV for Musk’s office in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building so he could play video games, according to a person familiar with the situation granted anonymity to speak freely.”

Has anyone tried to breath from a tailpipe lately?

The thing that was making America great was apparently lead.

Any other president would be rushed to the hospital after saying this.

@captmarkkelly.bsky.social: “Let's cut the crap: If Ukraine falls, American safety is at risk.” What about this is so difficult to understand!?! #SlavaUkraïni

"DOGE’s claims are often either mathematically impossible, or, like the $50m 'condoms for Gaza' claim, simply false. This allows the administration to take a strategically ambiguous stance in hopes of shielding DOGE from judicial interference. But that strategy is failing." -- @lizdye.bsky.social

Holy shit, a whopping 56 percent of Americans DISAPPROVE of trump's abysmal handling of the economy. This is lower than any other point even in his first term. PASS IT ON.

“.. Asked how much the stock market would need to decline for them to speak out collectively, 44% said it would have to fall 20%. Another 22% said stocks would have to fall 30% before they would take a stand.” @wsj.com www.wsj.com/business/ceo...

Trump’s team is already saying they will not spend funds that Congress has authorized and appropriated.  There is no point in Democrats voting to fund the government only to let Trump and Musk do whatever they see fit with those funds. Call your Senator: (202) 224-3121

It should come as no surprise that a region with an entrenched Bourbon aristocracy and one-party rule has important deficits in both democracy (competitive electoral politics) and liberalism (individual rights and freedoms). The deficits are national now.

lol I’m sure if a federal worker did this it would be fine right?

The goods we export from Oregon help our economy thrive. Trump’s tariffs will raise costs for consumers and be a disaster for the state’s farmers, fishing industry, wine producers, semiconductor manufacturers, lumber yards, and more. www.opb.org/article/2025...

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu at the House hearing on sanctuary cities: "If you wanted to make us safe, pass gun reforms. Stop cutting Medicaid. Stop cutting cancer research. Stop cutting funds for veterans. That is what will make our cities safe." Mic drop! 🎤

OMG yes! Bold please! And don’t forget Ukraine.

Not gonna happen…that’s my bet anyway

Alina Habbard posted: NOTHING CAN STOP THIS MAN FROM FIGHTING FOR HIS COUNTRY. David Simon had a succinct 2-word response: “Bone spurs.”

This is tonight’s A block. Tune in at 8pm!

Extending the Trump tax cuts for the next 10 years would add roughly $4 trillion to the deficit. Remember this the next time Republicans try paying for them with cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.  The "party of fiscal responsibility" is full of it.

"This dynamic has left immigrants in a desperate bind: fearful that they could be tracked down and deported if they file their taxes, but also mindful that they could get in trouble for not paying their taxes." www.thebulwark.com/p/trump-irs-...

This is a good idea and needs to happen datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/dra...

Getting rid of the American workers who take care of American veterans is wrong. Veterans will not take this sitting down - we can make this the newest example of Trump being forced to back down from a bad move.

So don't want to be the bearer of bad tidings: but DOGE canceled the lease on the facility that processes and stores all the nuclear waste created by the US military. Sorry. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/doge-...

The other thing we must keep in mind is that Putin has not only attacked Ukraine, he attacked the Democratic Party of the United States of America and our candidate for President in 2016, helping Trump win. Trump is siding with someone who launched an incredible attack on the Democratic Party.

BREAKING: House Speaker Mike Johnson's chief of staff, Hayden Haynes, was arrested on a DUI charge Tuesday night after President Trump's address to Congress, law enforcement sources say.

Adam Schiff is right on point.

A must read from @juliezebrak.bsky.social, who was nice enough to shepherd this week’s edition of The Democracy Index.
