I don’t even get their goal, not trying to glorify them in any way, but the og fascists at least attempted to build robust public transit and infrastructure as a sign of public investment. China does it too in the now, so why is Trump and Co hellbent on destroying projects?

Guess I’m out of a job. Thanks Trump!

Crazy how the trans panic led to my social security number and all my personal information being personally looted by Elon Musk to sell on the dark web, I hope the TERFs feel safe from children now!

Why would he even need access to SSA information if their goal is to cut government spending, he already has access to the treasury and their records. This is just blatantly stealing Americans most sensitive information.

Most AIs are garbage but I’ve found co-pilot more useful and truthful. If you ask it if what musk is doing is legal it will tell you no lmao. Weirdly Microsoft seems like one of the few big tech companies not swept up with Trump fascism

In the Roman Empire, senators continued to be senators for nearly a thousand years after they lost democratic power to the emperors. You just had to have a ton of money and social connections and you could be made a senator. I see something similar happening here.

I’m a special education teacher in the inner city and this whole thing makes me so disgustingly ill. Elon and Trump have probably never even set foot in a public school and have no idea what these programs do. They are so, so, so rich. Why do they have to hurt poor kids?

Only if you’re rich or corporate nobility, the rest of us will be charged maximum sentences and have our rights removed immediately if we even dare break a mild city code.

Thank god at least one check is sort of working, since congress has completely abandoned any facade of democracy and crowned Trump king

Guy that has led us directly to this point: “How could we have gotten to this point?”

Btw not that it matters with the multitude of illegal and unconstitutional activities this admin has committed, but if they are scraping any student data this is a clear violation of FERPA and the IDEA laws.
I don’t think Elon and his fascist youth have gotten any formal permission from families.

They are 100% going to try to defund special education services under the guise that it’s too woke.

I’m a Special Ed teacher and my job may be on the line too. So what’s the plan? Push millions of people into unemployment? Are they trying to completely crash the economy?

It’s not a big deal for billionaires, but that “little inflation” will be a huge deal for people who actually have to work.

All the states that still believe in and want democracy. Hopefully if the national dems roll over the state govs keep bringing the heat.

Fucking coward pos, let’s just hope we will still be able to vote him out if he doesn’t become Trump’s permanently established vizier of the city.

My wife is a legal alien and I’m a citizen, will my children lose their right to citizenship if Trump ends birthright? What type of bullshit is this??? How can he just issue unconstitutional executive orders, wtf is happening

Undoing the 14th amendment is very dangerous. They won’t stop at stripping citizenship at undocumented migrants if the Supreme Court allows them to strip it at all.

Could easily cut costs if they just fully funded SPED programs and made sure admins were in compliance to the best of their ability.
As a SPED teacher myself I feel it would be far cheaper to give public schools the minimal amount they need to fulfill their mandates and hold people accountable.

Very nice of him to state the obvious truth a few days before handing over the reigns to a mad billionaire and his tech buddies.

They are purposely filling their coffers with billionaire’s money though. The same billionaires that are fully funding Trump’s transition and wholeheartedly are supporting the global slide into authoritarianism.

Sadly it is transactional at its most base essence. Students have to get good grades to get into a good college to get a profitable degree. Even public school students will end up spending tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands. Until we will lower the cost of education it will not end.

Exactly, even slightly hostile countries could use this as carte Blanche to arrest and detain American indefinitely without trial. As usual, our elected officials have no understanding of tertiary effects.

I have a feeling life is going to get significantly worse, darker, and lower quality for anyone who doesn’t have already have a multi-million dollar net worth. Taxes will be raised to unimaginable levels for the lower classes to pay for this government looting of public services.

I’m glad that in the dying days of democracy, our duly elected officials are rushing to approve as much funding for Israeli weapons as possible. Really is a preview of what’s to come.

This is the biggest problem, basically no legislation is done by congress besides tax cuts and budget increases for the military. Most radical changes in people’s lives was done through the courts, or through executive order. Democracy is dying if not dead already even before Trump.

So I guess all that shit about protecting children doesn’t matter if it’s them doing it. Why is he not in jail? How can we allow congress to protect and shield pedophiles at the highest level? Is there no rule of law in this nation? It seems to me there no longer is for those with a certain income.

As a public servant in NYC I definitely agree with this sentiment. I interact with public spaces everyday and they are defunct, degraded, and seem to have been uniformly built 100 years ago. Meanwhile this is the “richest” city on Earth, supposedly.
