A message more people need to hear: If you put on a persona that is a contrarian, an asshole, or just plain unpleasant and that's the only side of you someone interacts with, it doesn't matter who you "truly are." For that person, that is the "real you" and you deserve to be treated like it.

Cats demand attention when they want attention and will let you know how they like to be pet. Learning that interaction with a cat allows you to be a better lover because you've learned to watch the signals given you. In my not so humble opinion.

As an aside: parents have been using bleach intentionally to “cure” their children’s autism for many years. “Bleach therapy” given orally, in a bath, or an enema is a popular “treatment” in the antivaxx community. This is what a society built on ableism creates. These guys didn’t have to fake it.
