I support the legal and social equality of trans people, view the ongoing hate campaign against them as evil, and support their autonomy and freedom. I know several young people who grew up with my kids who are trans and I am concerned about their well-being. /1

This is our boy Ronald. He came to us before Jorts Merch was a thing, but he’s definitely Jorts Merch anyway.

So Biden's winning independents, doing pretty okay among Dems, and most of the rest of them will come home. And I just don't see how Trump gains a single vote over 2020.

Oh, Quinnapac thinks its being driven by women, which I think means the E. Jean Carroll case, which means our first evidence that Trump losing in court is extremely dangerous for him

There's a $10,000 hotline reward for tips that help jail a cop killer, and most states automatically impose harsher penalties on those convicted. To say nothing of the fact that of course cops/DAs close these cases.
Blue Lives already mattered MORE than anyone else, but they still threw a tantrum.

like I don’t know how effective you think organizing to support a more properly progressive & viable candidate will be when the goon squads with a license to open fire show up at every event

I think there *might* be a difference in the nature of the negative reaction women get compared to men, but the negative reactions are still definitely a thing.

It's frustrating to me as a teacher because it's bled over into teacher/student interactions- I had a parent get belligerent because "disciplining [child] is my job, not yours" when I assigned a lunch detention.

he started right off the bat: his first big event as Pope was the annual foot-washing for... Palm Sunday, I think? ... and there were a lot of cardinals offended that he went to an orphanage and washed the feet of orphans, many of whom were not Catholic, instead of washing the feet of cardinals.

So that excuses the inhumanity? "But he did it first" doesn't fly in a classroom full of 11-year-olds, it shouldn't fly when dealing with mass crimes against humanity.
Nobody here holds a high ground.
The people of Gaza and of Israel are all victims. The IDF and Hamas are both villains

S.M. Stirling wrote a whole series about that expansionist Confederate timeline- “The Domination of the Draka.” Spoilers: they’re possibly the evilest bad guys in alternate history sci fi, ever.

Finally heard from my mom, who told me Dad wasn't flying anywhere near NY that week. When he got through to us that night, he was stuck in Denver. I felt guilty for being relieved, and utterly horrified at what had been done.

Woke up in Seattle to my radio tellling me there had been a plane crash in NY.
My father was an airline pilot, and I didn't know where he was working that day.
Then the second plane hit, and I spent over an hour pleading with the news reporters to say what airlines the planes had been with.
