Imagine if another country’s president was cracking down on the opposition party’s fundraising mechanism “to cripple their opponents’ political infrastructure” Authoritarianism is here. 🇺🇸 www.nytimes.com/2025/04/24/u...

Feels like this isn’t hitting like the bombshell it should be. Has the Times or the Post even covered it yet? abcnews.go.com/Politics/heg...

I was just thinking that when Dems have control someday they should pass a strong bill asserting that the judiciary at every level is fully independent and then I remembered that we have that bill and it's The Constitution

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that federal authorities may once again seek reporters’ phone records and compel their testimony in leak investigations, reversing a policy that was designed to protect journalists from intrusive government efforts to identify and prosecute sources.

Maddow: 88% of the country says no, no, he cannot defy a supreme court ruling. Only 9% say yes he can. And you know, it's not the same thing. But I should mention that 9% is also the proportion of Americans who told yougov this week that they have a favorable view of the black plague

NEW: Abrego Garcia is getting a lot of attention, but many people are asking about the rest of the men being unlawfully held in CECOT. Here's what's going on with them. My latest: www.muellershewrote.com/p/so-what-ab...

FBI arrest of a sitting judge is a big deal, but the looming question is what type of warrant was ICE executing: judicial or administrative. Judge Dugan is now front & center in the ongoing escalation of ICE's ready fire aim method of law enforcement.

Maybe federal judges will realize it's time to stop dicking around and time to start throwing people in jail themselves.

so, arresting judges should be more than enough reason for complete obstruction at in the house and senate. complete obstruction. anything you can do. interrupt proceedings, deny consent, holds on nominations. everything.

WTF? FBI agents arrested a Milwaukee county judge on Friday, accusing her of shielding an immigrant from federal authorities. The allegation? That Judge Hannah Dugan “intentionally misdirected federal agents away from” someone they were pursuing, according to a now-deleted post by Mr. Patel.

Our cover this week.

The head of our country’s government is in the early stages of consolidating total power. We must of course reject this, but that is not enough. We have to respond by creating a different and better kind of American politics than we have seen before.

Real American leadership right here.

The entire permanent staff of the Division of Environmental Health Science and Practice was laid off. This division addresses issues such as asthma and air pollution, climate change and health, childhood lead poisoning, and cancer clusters.

We are very far over the cliff here, folks

The stock market is tanking so badly it almost feels like we are being governed by someone who went bankrupt six tim— Oh.

Heaven forbid that this simple-minded buffoon would allow his crashing the United State's economy, or the return of the remains of four people killed in our military, to interfere with yet one more stupid golf game for this superficial scam-artist to cheat at.

Calling Congress can't be the only thing we do but it is one action we *can* and *should* take to stand up to Trump's illegal attack on unions. Please take 5 minutes to call this week. We are so grateful for your support 🙏

If she was that confident, she wouldn’t object to due process.

This guy is in one of the worst prisons in the world with no way out and may spend the rest of his life there because, it appears, he has an autism awareness tattoo in honor of his little brother. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

10 years ago, if group of miscellaneous people were hauled out of bedrooms, work & off the street & flown without hearing to brutal prison in El Salvador, you would have said must be in Chile or Russia or China, not US. "Can't happen here." It is happening here . Why are you now allowing it?

Not getting much attention, but the Senate GOP is about to start voting - to make sure banks can charge higher overdraft fees. Seriously. Good time to let your Senators know what you think of that.

every person involved in this needs to be in prison

"My cars are wildly unpopular right now! What is the one spokesperson I could pick to make them look even less cool?"

What do you call humans being kidnapped and sent to another country to be imprisoned in shackles and forced to perform intense physical labor while living in horrid conditions under the threat of daily physical violence and rape? Open a history book. You can do it. I believe in you.

It's always wrong to vandalize personal property and that certainly includes Teslas, and also: your government is actively disappearing innocent people without due process, so, you know, that second one is taking up my empathetic bandwidth at the moment.

BREAKING: 34,000 people have showed up in Denver, Colorado this evening to see Bernie Sanders and AOC fight oligarchy and authoritarianism.
