Measles cases in Texas and New Mexico now number over 250, with two deaths being linked to the outbreak. (For comparison, the US had 285 cases of measles in all of 2024). Measles isn't just a rash. For @wired.com, I wrote about why the disease can be so deadly: www.wired.com/story/this-i...

"You know why Trump arrested Mahmoud Khalil first? Precisely because he’s *not* the most sympathetic figure. His views are bigoted and extreme. I certainly don’t want to be in the business of defending him. But that’s the thing about freedom."

Every few years, we sign up for yet another platform just to keep in touch with our friends. Private platforms have locked users in for too long, causing a lack of innovation & competition in social media. Bluesky aims to fundamentally change this. Live in 20 min with @jay.bsky.team:

One of my companies informed me they cancelled a $2m conference in Florida. Why ? They didn’t feel they could pass on the incremental cost of tariffs. So they are cutting expenses. That’s a city that lost a ton of tourism revenue. The cost of tariffs isn’t just the cost of the tariff
