I apply for things (conferences, readings, etc). Or I write in a different genre or style. When in doubt I watch shitty reality tv #momswritersclub

I love playlists for characters!

There are many stories I’ve kept and tinkered with and rewritten. I tend to have a lot of enthusiasm at the very beginning and the very end - once the pacing shifts I have to reevaluate #momswritersclub

I’ve learned to embrace being stuck by a) reading; b) taking a class; c) seeing writers read their work aloud. Keeping a schedule helps too #momswritersclub

In all honesty, I’ve never wanted to do anything else. I love experimenting with character, form, setting, and being free to experience the world through a different pov #momswritersclub

Hi! Hope the little ones are well. Something about living with two little ones makes life feel dystopic

I’m the exception, not the rule. on this, my 24th #diaversary, I urge everyone to rally to protect everyone’s right to affordable healthcare. #t1d #t1dlookslikeme

Bush forced clinics to destroy stem cells that could have contributed to research to help diabetics like me. But Bush’s ignorance pales in comparison to T*ump’s malice. Healthcare is a human right; I learned that at age 16. I’m lucky to have the tools I need to stay healthy, but… (2/3)

If there is a romantic thread in my work, it’s probably a subplot. I’d love to try writing a proper romance though; I’m reading an entertaining one now (“the co-op” by Tarah Dewitt) #momswritersclub

So far I haven’t written successful romances (more like one-sided ones appear as subplots). In my current project, the MC discovers she is pregnant and not by her long term partner 🤣 #momswritersclub

Definitely. I like reading inter generational family stories - and seeing how differences in age and culture clash at times #momswritersclub

Likewise! We are fine here - it poured all day yesterday but today was gorgeous 🤷🏼‍♀️

Writing children and teenagers can be hard. I try to skate around it by writing in third person and relying on dialogue and body language. I haven’t written many characters older than my parents #momswritersclub

Same here, Tracy! 🤣

Subconsciously, yes. I started my first novel in my late 20s and the protagonists are young women (17 & 22). My second project features a woman close to my age (38). All three of them are at major turning points in their lives #momswritersclub

Do you and your daughter write at the same time? That’s the dream 🤞

My mom (who is also a writer) always used to tell me, Never piss off a writer…they’ll write about you 🤣

Yeah! My big kid is always asking, how is your book coming along? 🥹

I have an accountability writing group where essentially all we do is check in with updates. That helps, plus I spend a lot of time applying for and researching writing retreats. And sometimes I just need a break! #momswritersclub
