I do the same, only in relation to football. (I mean playing! Or do I? 😉😆)

Anyway, if it passes I'll just write everything by hand, or find a typewriter & hammer away on that. If they want anything of mine for free, they can wait 'til I'm dead. As for the rest of the (hyper)capitalist shit, they can poke it.

It's dumb & short-sighted in the extreme. Ditching a sector worth billions to the economy to chase whatever's left after the US & Chinese have taken their fill. Nor would it be any different under the Tories - or anyone else come to that - no matter what they might say while in opposition.

As long as they're clearly marked as AI narrated, so I can tell the publishers where to go & what to do with themselves...

As someone who defaults to americano, I'll have to try this. (How typical of the modern world is it that something called 'long' is actually shorter/smaller, though? 🤷🏻‍♂️)

Seemed inevitable. No ME footage, just a few stills of a less-than-inspiring UI. Statements saying a few more weeks/months should be enough when they've been working on moving to Unity since 2018/2019... I'm no fan of people losing their jobs, but I imagine heads will roll at SI.

In the same vein as me, going on a rant worthy of a Klingon, and my other half following it with, "Drink?"

It's like all the SF warnings from my (our) youth have been taken as a guide. And, it has to be said, largely by Gen X - the very people who should know better.

Unedifying as it was, at least our courts declared it illegal. It's why the last gov't. wanted to leave the European Convention on Human Rights (which, ironically, the UK more or less wrote & imposed after WWII) & Farage, et al, still do.

Reminds me: I *still* need to watch it. Maybe once we (Walsall) go 1-0 down tomorrow...

This reminds me, I really must build that trans-dimensional teleporter & get out of this timeline...

Sounds OK to me! 🙂 (Call me The Throwback Kid. Or don't. At nearly 52, "Kid" definitely doesn't apply. "The Throwback Middle-Aged Git"?😅)

Yes, Threads was often a proper trawl. Not quite as bad as what Twitter became, but it was/is on the same path.

Good point. I don't always check (I'm usually on Following, but check others so I guess that'd be the default when I logged back in). No algorithm would explain it though, so thanks for that info/confirmation.

I've not heard or read a single good thing about Section 31. Not even "Michelle Yeoh is amazing". (When, for the record, Michelle Yeoh *is* amazing*. It's like a universal constant or something.) (* I have not seen Section 31...yet. 😅)

Nailed it on GoT, Firefly & Sherlock (though I'd say 3-4 of the first 6 eps were 'peak'. After those it definitely went to a dark & smelly place). 24 - excellent for the first couple of seasons, then... I still remember my shock at (& appreciation of) the S1 reveal.

Such terrible news. Rest in peace, Amer.

I don't have deadlines. I'm stuck in the red bit.

I mean, of all the talents* I could have had... (* I don't necessarily mean I'm any good. The facts speak for themselves on that front. It's just the thing I'm best at. 🤷🏻‍♂️)

I should've got back to work on one project & started a new one on 6th Jan. To date I haven't written a thing. Too much other stuff going on, & every time I sit down to write I get an attack of "What's the point? Why bother? I'm useless & it'll only get nicked by AI" etc anyway. 🫤

I saw that as 'From the heart...sieg heil!' And he'd been waiting years to let it out. The worst thing, though, was hearing people cheer.

I have to admit to being more of a casual viewer by then. I can't say for sure when it went from "when's it on?" to "oh, it's on", but yeah, I'd guess it was sometime around the end of the 90s. Must've been about...Jesus, 15 years 😱...since I bothered, though.

Science Fiction, shortly to be moved to Current Affairs.

Yep, should've ended with the movie (which, tbh, wasn't great). But during those peak years...

I was the odd one out among my lot, because I didn't get it either. I just didn't find it funny (I'd known & worked with quite a few people who were pretty much like that) - until the ep. where the guy hears Jen's died & thinks he's being haunted.

Does this mean it's a case of UK policy being "We don't know what the future holds, but it's definitely dystopian"? 🤔

It might...

4-2 in the end, but so much for being a one-man team.

Yes, but, Rebecca Ferguson. Now, call me shallow...

Sandwiched between optimistic chickens (poor sods, if only they knew) & a near-classic example of stating the bleeding obvious. (And now I'm thinking about chicken sandwiches...)

It depends: are the old ones *really* keeping your feet warm?; and if 'no', is the lining of the new ones nice & fluffy? (And honestly, 15 year old me has just died of embarrassment at 50-something year old me. 😄)

Destroy a creative sector worth billions to scrabble around for the few millions the tech corps allow to fall from the table. They really are Tories in (a very thin) disguise, and just as clueless.

Only just seen this thread, so catching up (the algorithm seems to have buried it for some reason - though a similar thing happened with the film one).

It certainly made my shit itch.

Thank you very much, and Happy Birthday. 🥳

It's especially annoying when the answer to "What else were they in?" turns out to be nothing we've seen, they just really look like somebody else (this is especially true of actresses/female actors*). (* delete as applicable)
