I would add random chance. Random mutation, randomly encountering viruses and bacteria. We can change our probability in some cases with lifestyle choices, but we are still subject to chance.

There are too many high school math courses to list them separately as was done with the high school science courses. The reason Geometry is listed separately is that it is extraneous and should be covered in the algebra sequence.

Don't China and India have higher rates of illiteracy than the US? So, no.

Some solid content. But also, some skills family should be teaching.

Some dogs are not so into the whole rolling over thing. Be more like those dogs.

I did ask Batman and he told me that he doesn't exist. And he then went on to tell me that you shouldn't use him to make any statements about the real world.

This seems too ignorant to be real. That said, students who are flunking math often don't realize they're flunking.

In addition to all of the other horrible stuff, the only way Musk has hat hair in front of the entire world is because the richest man in the world is the king wears no clothesest man in the world.

At work we did the Secret Santa thing where we were given the possible book interests of our gift recipients, and we gave each other books as gifts. I got Weapons of Math Destruction and my recipient got Pathogenesis: The History of the World in Eight Plagues. Truly magical!

It's a toss up between the Cure's, Just Like Heaven (always reminds me of a dog I had who died in my arms), and Van Morrison's Madame George which makes me think of other losses. No real reason for these sad connections, it's just the nature of art.

The Hobbit and LOTR were my first read, and in my 60's, I am on my third time. But wait, there's more. I have a high school senior in my Stats class who has already read LOTR multiple times. There is hope for the world!

The Orange dog is not so concerned about pleasing or people's feelings. She has been great at teaching me to manage my own feelings though. She is the resident Zen master.

The Polar Express. Many of my high school students aren't fans, but a few get the sleigh bell. When the student is ready, the sleigh bell will appear.

I would point out, just because it's true, studies are not able to prove cause and effect. So this is not indicative of anything more conclusive than a relationship like sunscreen application frequency and incidence of skin cancer.

Is it really stochastic? It seems inherently non-random. In any case, I love the term, "Stochastic Terrorism."

I hate teaching on zoom, and I'd really rather die from the virus in summer. How does that work for everyone else?
