Labour let the last Tory Govt pass repressive anti protest laws. Some of us Peers tried to stop the worst measures with a Fatal Motion I tabled, but Labour refused to support it. Now in power, they are happy to use these laws against us.

A democratically-run political party. Wow, what a radical idea. Nigel Farage claims to have handed Reform UK over to its members, however the leader still has huge amount of control and cannot be easily removed. The Green Party is run democratically by our members. Join today ⤵️

UK stock market is a destructive cash extraction machine. In 2024, listed-companies paid £86.5bn in dividends. Top 100 alone paid another £56.9bn in share buybacks. In 2024, companies raised £3.4bn in new shares; £953.7m in 2023. UK ranked 28 out of 31 OECD countries for investment.

"They have nothing to address the multiple crises we face, and their go to is to attack @jeremycorbyn.bsky.social. No wonder they are one of the most hated governments in British history". Curtis Daly on @joanireid.com bizarrely attacking Corbyn over Putin. 👇 www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzTe...

Tory austerity. Now Labour austerity. Still austerity. Let's stop making nonsense rules and actually fund public services.

Elon Musk's ideas don't belong in the UK It's time to start talking about DOBE not DOGE 👇 www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQUi...

If Thames Water was any normal company it would have gone bust. Instead, it's been bailed out. We'll fight this decision. Water is an essential part of life. Which is exactly why it should be in public ownership. Agree? Sign our petition weownit.org.uk/act-now/brin...

More evidence of harms inflicted by private equity on US healthcare. Usual pattern: profiteering, hiking debt, low investment, poor patient care and safety. Yet UK NHS being handed to private equity without any evidence, 30%-40% public money vanishes in profits. Money buys less.

Just outrageous - nearly £4 billion "excess profit" pocketed by privatised energy networks while YOUR bills went up Energy transmission and distribution is a natural monopoly and other countries recognise this PUBLIC OWNERSHIP NOW ⚡️🔥 www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Finally!! Great news - congratulations to all who campaigned for this 👏👏Now we need to make it as inclusive as possible eg covering colleges & apprenticeships @europeanmovement.co.uk

This is such a weird attack on Jeremy. Just wait until I draft my letter to you about the £4 million donation that your party took from Quadrature Capital (arms deals, oil & gas, gambling.) Labour MPs are oddly silent about that - I'm sure you'll agree there's "no room for ambiguity."

Water companies are pumping sewage in our sea and taking record profits. Labour refuses to nationalise them. In the exact same way he won't tax the wealth of the 1%, blames migrants & cut winter fuel for pensioners. Is it any surprise they're tanking?

Trump's comments become more delusional and dangerous by the day. It's more vital than ever that the UK government speaks truth to power, stands up for British values and interests, and challenges Trump's tsunami of disinformation.

It's a fallacy to say that we have to choose between builders and blockers. We could choose to have to right sorts of development, in the right place, at the right price that would meet our housing needs while protecting our precious natural environment.

Trump calls Ukraine's Zelenskyy a 'dictator', 'modestly successful comedian', who should ‘move fast’ or lose country. Part of the strategy to force Ukraine to hand territory to Russia, mineral wealth to US. What next? Can't trust Trump as an ally. UK must rejoin EU. www.nbcnews.com/news/world/z...

🤝 Sadiq Khan has admitted Brexit was a mistake and that a new youth mobility scheme is needed. 🤦 However, Keir Starmer has said no. 🇪🇺 Only the Green Party is committed to fixing our relationship with the EU and working together to counter a reckless Trump administration.

Five more water companies in England appeal against Ofwat’s curb on bill rises. OFWAT permitted average price rise of 36%. They want more People can't appeal, have to pay up, put up with sewage in rivers, exploitation. Corporations rule and no one is protecting people.

Keir Starmer plans to cut public services to fund war. Does he just want to hand Nigel Farage the country on a platter? New post 👇 www.owenjones.news/p/starmer-pl...

“If we can find the money to kill people, we can find the money to help people.” — Tony Benn

The poorest fifth of households are spending more of their income on Council Tax than the richest fifth. Labour should immediately re-evaluate Council Tax bands to make them fairer. In the long term Greens would replace Council Tax with a fair system for taxing landowners.

It’s absolutely appalling that NHS buildings have been allowed to get to this state. Politicians have had so many warnings from experts🚨 www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Gambling - an industry out of control doing enormous damage to individuals and communities, and a "regulator" that will not even tell the public what it is doing www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Trump says Jump! Labour would say "How high?" But they actually seem just as happy to grovel instead. #BBCLauraK

This was a long time coming! I've been asking the Government probing questions about the supposed independence of #LordWalney 's advice since October. He advised government to treat climate protesters as extremists, while having clear financial links to oil and gas companies 🤔 #LordWalney16

🚨 Labour/Tories. 🔥 Dancing to Farages tune - they are a danger to us all. 💚 We need to tackle inequality. 🚮 We can't go on like this.

Reform are gaining traction. But so are the mighty greens! Love and hope will always triumph! We need to make sure the Greens continue to pull ahead! join.greenparty.org.uk

Barclays CEO pay up from £4.3m to £10.5m. Real average pay of UK workers unchanged since 2008. Govts tell workers pay rises are inflationary, but that doesn't apply to exec pay, dividends, exec pay, share buybacks. Their profiteering is our inflation and poverty. It is class war.

So grim to see Keir Starmer going even further to the right. He seems totally incapable of talking about why immigration is a good thing. Totally incapable of talking about our skills gap. Totally incapable of humanity & compassion. #PMQs

In the 2024 election, some of us urged a vote for the Greens or independents. We said that this was the only way to build pressure on Labour, otherwise they would just act on pressure from Nigel Farage. Next time, maybe listen to us.

I asked the Secretary of State about his long-term plans for the private sector in our NHS. Instead of a serious policy response, I got a dismissive, party-political reply. Scrutiny is healthy — so why won’t Streeting engage with a straightforward question?

Heathrow is typical of the Government. Makes inequality worse, evidence is biased by vested interests and it's terrible for the planet. Rather than a frequent flyer levy, Labour are only interested in representing corporate interests.

Labour have thrown trans people under a bus, this time decisively. Why? Because of Nigel Farage's Reform UK. And this explains the triumph of transphobia in certain countries: it's a byproduct of the rise of right-wing radicalism. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Labour's disgusting deportation stunt this week wasn't just morally bankrupt, it was politically stupid. Politicians need to find the backbone to be honest about the real source of our problems: the wealthy elite draining money from our communities metro.co.uk/2025/02/11/l...

‼️74% say Labour is handling the economy badly: ✅ Well 15% (-2) ❌ Badly 74% (+2) This is a net rating of -59, a record low for Labour. (Source: YouGov)

A HUGE 25% of 18-24 year olds now saying they will @greenparty.org.uk - the kids are alright you know yougov.co.uk/politics/art...

A vote for The Green Party is never wasted. 1) Every Green vote at a General Election gives us a tiny amount of money towards paying for a Parliamentary office with staff to help us 2) Every Green vote is an indicator to the other parties that the environment is important. 3) And we win seats!

Apparently Kemi Badenoch has been Tory leader for 100 days. We tried to put together a list of her biggest achievements…

Drax is a scam - burning trees, some from ancient forests as far away as Canada. It's scandalous the government is funding this! Instead let's fund a national home insulation scheme to cut bills, reduce energy use and create secure, well-paid jobs uk.news.yahoo.com/further-subs...

Green Party leader @carladenyer.bsky.social accused Labour of “plumbing new depths" by broadcasting footage of people being detained. "Those involved should be searching their consciences" she said www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Witnessing Labour trying to mimic Reform with migrant raid videos is sickening & will simply reinforce Reform’s messages. Just months after race riots, it also risks encouraging further animosity. We need safe & legal routes for asylum seekers, not boasts about which party can be cruellest

Corporate Welfare UK halves subsidies for Drax for 2027-2031, says it must use 100% sustainable wood. Drax burns 7m tonnes of wood a year; produces 4% of electricity; £6.5bn subsidy since 2002; 2023 operating profit £908m. Why any subsidy? UK has one of the most expensive electricity.

If Labour approves the Rosebank oil field, it would be the final straw for many of its green-minded voters. It might appease corporate power for a moment, but in doing so it will lose far more than it gains. The government seems to be on a self-destructive streak. Now's the time to rethink.

Bank of England wants to slash red tape on banks. Translation - remove consumer rights, protections. Already - Bank fraud compensation reduced to £85,000 from £415,000. Capital requirements reduced. Banker bonus cap abolished. Guess who will bear the cost of bailouts? archive.ph/7Uvj0

Keir Starmer must speak out. David Lammy must speak out. Another red line crossed - they must condemn Donald Trump's plans.

This January was the hottest on record and people across the globe are feeling the devastating impacts of the climate crisis. But the far-right, bankrolled by the ultra-wealthy, are organising to destroy climate action. Here's how we can stop them: www.independent.co.uk/voices/refor...

Death Merchants: Private equity investment firms slammed for declining US healthcare quality and access. 11% increase in patient deaths. Aggressive staffing cuts, hiring inadequately credentialed staff, low investment, profiteering. Why is the UK NHS being handed to private equity?

Ridiculous. How much more awful does Thames Water have to actually be before Labour nationalise them? This morning with Sadiq Khan's team: 👇🏼

I've just found out from this article that my whip still hasn't been restored. Turns out speaking up for Palestine is still a punishable offence. www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

Kemi Badenoch's spokesman repeatedly refuses to condemn Donald Trump's Gaza plan, or repeat the Conservative party's previous support for a two state solution. Pushed to say whether Palestinians should have a right to return to their homes, he refused to do so bylinetimes.com/2025/02/05/k...
