Several media outlets as well as the US tourism association say there is a significant drop in Canadian tourism. I believe one number was around 70% drop. Not surprised really. That was before the border threats.

I think this point needs to be made more often, people don't realize the trickle down effect... all the businesses and individuals who will be affected... even students who depend on seasonal summer jobs will see a change... many of those jobs will be lost as well.

It's something we've been talking about in Canada... tariffs will cause job losses here but our healthcare is not tied to our jobs... if we lose our jobs, we still get cancer care. It's significant. But then our heart surgeons aren't millionaires and pharma doesn't get to charge $10 for an Advil.
