Basically any company would force you to retire from full time work at 65. I’d be willing to compromise to 70 but we really need an amendment to add an age limit to elected office.

I think the reason we see differences between Biden vs Trump and D senate Vs R senate is because Biden is particularly weak, not because Trump is particularly strong. It could be that Trump is particularly strong and Harris still loses.

It’s the exact opposite. Ambitious people like Newsom want Biden to stay in so they have a shot in 28. People that don’t have plateaud, like tester or brown, want Biden to step down to prevent trump’s second term.

Polling makes perfect sense. People do not want to be ruled by republican policies but think Biden is not able to do the job of president, so are not voting/voting for Trump. That’s why there’s senators running 12 points ahead of Biden.

Well, data shows significant change now and Biden’s going to stay in anyways.

It’s not really an argument. One side is looking at the data and saying Biden will lose and the other side is putting their fingers in their ears and denying reality.
I wish the people getting their way at least claim responsibility after Biden loses, but I know they won’t.

Again, this isn’t a relevant argument. The only argument that you can for Biden staying the nominee is that he is the strongest candidate to beat Trump. Polls show that isn’t the case. None of his experience translates into voters preferring him to Trump.

The only argument that should be made for Biden continuing to be the nominee is that he has the best chance to beat Trump. Swing state polls show he can’t beat Trump, so the decision to switch to Harris is easy.

Correct, Biden didn’t face a real primary. Incumbents never face real primaries. Which is why the argument that Biden has to be to nominee because he won a primary is silly.

Right, he didn’t face a real primary. voters assumed he was still competent to speak publicly, so were happy to keep him. But now they know he can’t and want to change candidates.

If you think there was a real primary, explain why Biden didn’t do any debates.

there’s also a sense among Dem elites that going after GOP lawbreaking is unsportsmanlike and elections should just be about who can do serious government stuff, like budgets and public works, the best.

It’s an asymmetrical threat. If Harris rejected the votes and kicks the election to the house, Trump wins.

He thinks we have to naively assume good faith by GOP judges to maintain civil society but we don’t. How to deal with judiciary tyranny is answered in federalist paper 81 and it’s that the legislature tells them to fuck off. Law professors don’t like that so they act like it doesn’t exist.
