This is AMAZING news! Fuck Amazon www.salon.com/2025/01/28/b...

"The Nora Project has now released its Standards for Inclusive Schools, a groundbreaking roadmap for building inclusive schools where all students with and without disabilities are welcomed as their full and authentic selves." thenoraproject.ngo/nora-notes-b... #inclusionWorks #disability

I've applied to LPDP and Chevening so far... now to see if I can apply to Australia Awards again... I really wanna get into digital ethics especially given today's age but I'm not sure how much I can succeed, especially since I have to take a Master's on a full scholarship.

That "telepathy tapes" BS will "further the othering of autistic people in general, treating them like they have some kind of magical power, and that can get in the way of real acceptance and accommodations for autistics of all support needs." Colin Meloy: colinmeloy.substack.com/p/autistic-p...

Wenn Lawson, one of the originators of the theory, has written a chapter on it named 'Autism: Its Foundation and Practical Implications', for an open-access edited collection. www.intechopen.com/online-first...

"If [ND] people’s needs were met, there would be no need for the word 'resilience.' We need more softness & flexibility, more acceptance & understanding of differences, better communication b/t people, & less of a double empathy gap." @autisticrealms.bsky.social: autisticrealms.com/radical-resi...

I really need people to understand that disabled folks: Exist across every other axis of oppression Are underrepresented by DEI efforts almost across the board Are the first to go in almost every situation of oppression Are laughed off by people who consider themselves inclusive

Masking isn’t just a deliberate choice - it’s often an unconscious performance shaped by a world that demands we conform. Autistic humans mask to survive, to navigate spaces not built for us. It’s exhausting, but it’s also adaptive.

This is my latest book, "More You is more than okay, never less", which was written to not only validate Autistic and Neurodivergent experiences, but also normalise them for Neurotypicals, especially in educational settings. Free preview of the entire book at brettjcole.com/more-you ❤️

Becoming disabled is *the* most radicalizing thing that can happen to you because it happens atop whatever marginalizations you already have, amplifies them into a laser focus. For cishet white men, it can be the first time they've *ever* experienced marginalization.

Some unfinished Chanda doodles :3 #Pantheon

I think intellectual ableism against people you don’t like is still bad actually.

Asynchronous communication is where it's at.

One of the biggest reasons I think deficit models for autism don't work is that it creates a binary between between those autistic people who can and autistic people who can't. When, for example, I think there are consistent patterns in how autistic people relate to language.

Would a picture of Vinod Chanda's uploading scene be considered NSFL? It's something that we should consider, and having it put up as one of Netflix's banners for Pantheon is concerning. I hope it's at least only visible to users above a certain age.

Autistic Unmasking isn't about doing whatever we want, whenever we want, to whoever we want. Autsitic Unmasking isn't about being aggressive to people to make ourselves feel better. Autistic Unmasking isn't about openly and gleefully violating the stated boundaries of others.

No, interrupting everyone and trauma dumping whenever you feel like it in an autistic space isn’t “unmasking”. No, it isn’t harmful to you to respect people’s boundaries. Dudes need to stop using autism as their excuse to harm people because of their own dysregulation.

PANTHEON'S ON NETFLIX AAAAA NOW I CAN WATCH CHANDA SAY "THE WHOLE BRAIN EVERY NEURON" ON MY TV

Here's a hug i animated for season 2 of Pantheon (2022)

oh no more followers on bluesky help :D

Today in Hell Yes, Research! No, autism is NOT a factor in conspiracy mentality. "In fact, after examining large samples of both autistic and non-autistic adults, researchers found no difference in conspiracy mentality between the two groups." www.psypost.org/is-autism-a-... #neurodiversity

People got so used to replies being filled with anger that they crave it. Balanced and calm debate can happen on a site like this but Twitter broke our brains into thinking if it wasn't 'spicy' it wasn't a debate. I don't want tension or anger. I want adults in the room with respect and empathy.

Parents who say "I love my autistic child, but I hate autism" are making their own lives harder and their childrens’ lives, too. Instead, learn how to support and understand your autistic child. We can help, and here's some starting advice: tinyurl.com/UnderstandingAutismTPGA #autism

I cannot imagine why anyone could ever believe in any logical fashion how the humanities are "useless". The humanities are EVERYTHING. People don't get it. Why?

Getting appropriate educational services for our disabled kids can be unnecessarily brutal: “Many parents said their experience through the process was difficult & lonely, pointing to a lack of organized spaces to connect with other parents in similar situations.” www.thecrimson.com/article/2024...

Stereotypes about gender, race, and class have a big impact on autistic people's lives. Access to assessment, likelihood of misdiagnosis, and access to community resources vary in major ways based on gender, race, and class

I did not merely "not touch grass", the grass pushed me away.

Don’t wish people “happy women’s day” That isn’t the point of the day. It’s about recognizing those who have lost their lives for fighting for basic rights. It’s about recognizing the disenfranchisement of women & the struggles for equality that are nowhere near finished.

How can therapist avoid harming autistic clients? "As outsiders to the autistic experience, non-autistic therapists must practice "neuro-humility" regarding different experiences of neurodiversity," and work towards a "mindset shift that steps out of a medical pathology model" By Debra Brause Psy.D.

AI is full of derivativeness, yes. I love derivation but I also like to add my own input. What's interesting is that when an average person has an ideal interpretation of a derivation, they are often formulaic. At least that's what I observe from the pop culture chuds/fandom tranditionalists.

Perhaps we're too obsessed with socialization and interacting with each other, when there's the world outside of socialization as a basis to share information from. When there's nothing out there for us to observe, we nitpick other people's way of being; a ground for hot gossip.

I've been on a long break because I'm trying to figure out my future direction. It's quite a quarter-life crisis, and I'm getting close to being 30 years old.

Check out my new website: nanyadiri.com. It's still mostly a WIP. I'm trying to incorporate all aspects of myself there.

Hey autism researchers (+IRBs): If your work is on autism interventions that focus on getting autistic people to "pass" as non-autistic, you might want to rethink your approach. Growing evidence documents how harmful those methods are to autistic mental health/overall well-being. Ari Ne'eman et al:

Human writing will always matter medium.com/@autisticode...

Anti-autistic crank/parent Jill Escher of "National Council for Severe Autism" once published a laughable article titled The Autism Matrix, which included photos of autistics w/o permission, many in crisis (see link). She got in trouble but it didn't stick—as she recently published MORE such photos.

A wonderful article if you’ve taken (or want to take) the #monotropism questionnaire and want to know what it could all mean …… Read more here: monotropism.org/im-monotropi... Take questionnaire here: github.com/DLCIncluded/MQ @ferrousmu.bsky.social

AI relationships can actually help human relationships, interestingly enough: autisticodes.medium.com/when-ai-comp...

Suppression of behavior leans on executive functioning, which is resource intensive and leaves anyone with EF issues (ADHD, AuDHD, etc.) at a natural disadvantage. This can lead to a double whammy when suppression is needed alongside cognitively demanding tasks, impacting both. It kinda blows.

Also, "many autistic people have what are called 'spiky profiles,' which means the same person can have both pronounced abilities & disabilities—whether or not they require full-time support. Autistic people can also have high within-person variability," depending on environment.

I'm leading a seminar on how to support your autistic loved ones, friends, and colleagues thru meltdowns, shutdowns, and burnout. www.theautisticcoach.com/autism-educa...

🌈♾ Yay, new paper! ♾🌈 Co-designing neurodivergent student-led peer support for mainstream high schools Work led by @cjcrompton.bsky.social and others The paper reports on a participatory design process with neurodiverse groups of educators + young people journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...

I lead 10+ absolutely free support groups for #ActuallyAutistic adults every month on Zoom. These are VERY different from online groups or discords, as anyone who has attended one can attest to. I know of few other organizations or people holding these spaces. We need more. Join one today.

Wow, it took basically no time at all for AI voices/art to become synonymous with suspect, low – effort crap that serves as the perfect litmus test to prove something is definitely garbage and not worth your time
