You thought you were Frodo.

I know it's the teams fault, but those rcs lists seem so inaccurate.

Altitude camp killed it.

Hi. I would like to know where you get the Strade start list from. Is it a reliable source? Are they final?

Shouldn't it be someone from Visma with number 1?

It would be nice to confirm the parcours for San Remo as well. It would also have been nice to do it 5 months ago, but now will do.

Peak Sky only ever dominated the Tour and a couple of stage races.

Still no info on San Remo though.

I find it amazing how Binda is being saved by San Remo rather than replaced. Great to see.

We can remain hopeful, but I have some doubts about those two. At barely 18, they already reduced their cx schedule drastically, and they're not the purely cross gifted. Unlike Gery, they mainly use their excess power.

She's absolutely right. Although she did use the motor pacing at her own advantage on Thursday.

Or maybe they want to win races. That could also be.

This program is most suited for her. Italian races + Ardennes, since she also goes on altitude camp before the second block and the Vuelta. The difference with last year is that because of san Remo, there is no gap for her between Strade and Flanders to do such a camp. Kopecky is at San Remo anyway.

Let's bring Spa Francorchamp circuit to the rescue for NL road and tt champs. I heard they will use it a bit less 🙃, plus nice scenery and no need for police.

I mean it's sad that riders don't care about their own safety.
comment in response to

It's a pity that for the sake of security, the instances mustn't take too much the opinion of the riders into account.

Since it's often Youtube nowadays, that should be ok. They're hosted on various other platforms as well, some of them shady, though.

It's not about the broadcaster, it's about those who sell the rights, and who also count on sponsors money.

People don't like correct pronunciation?

The Haussire in the new parcours is "Haussire South". There's no 20 % in there. It's max 12 % and easier in general.
I bet a lot of people will make the mistake.

And Alvarado didn't seem at her best yesterday. The start of December was mild in terms of temperature, and now it seems we're in an infection period. Hope I'm wrong.

In which sense?
comment in response to

Exactly. But they should have scheduled the first 3 wc one week ahead so Cabras doesn't fall during the training camps, which was to be foreseen. Then, the riders could have traveled more efficiently.

You just underestimate the number of people that ought to be put in prison for a long time, for everyone's sake.

Advantages are:
1) much slower, at last
2) better cornering -> again more security
3) punctures made nearly inexistent -> less car support, again better security
4) more comfort for riders
Cons:
1) Advantage other riders, typically heavier rouleurs, Ganna-style, as you impose a base power load

Not just "wider tires" like some likes to ridicule. 35mm wouldn't change much indeed. Very much wider tires -> 50 or 60mm, full mtb but without profile, as it is inefficient on slick roads. You keep the geometry. You also impose gum material and an anti flat layer.

Yes, because the other would be even slower. It's about making biking slower as a whole, not suppressing the difference in bike handling. People are being dishonest in this thread. Parcours updates are necessary, but slowing the bikes or improving protection ( f1 like) will be the bigger solution 🤷♂️.

That's a bit the thing. She has few weapons to win or drop the others in the last phases of the race. She either needs a fast lap, a fast sequence, or a fast sprint. That's basically Brand, Alvarado, Van Empel (all of them). Cabras will be a good opportunity, though, as all others will be absent.

Apart from the fact she closed the (time) gap to the best riders, isn't the hierarchy more or less the same as last year? Last year, you also had the big four (Fem, Puck, Lucinda, Ceylin) on top, and then after, a mix of Casasola, Backstedt, Schreiber, Vas. It is a bit the same this year.
comment in response to

Blanka actually came back on her... sand technique, riding longer in the sand than most others. Weird :o
Despite that, she got dropped rather easily by Casasola. I don't know what to make of her race for future predictions.

She said she goes all in for LA28, so I have some doubts. Also, PFP was not the most technical either. Mtb xcc is won in the climbs.

No skinny tyres. There is an optimum. Go past it. 45 mm is slower and better for cornering. Add protection against flat tyres and that will be many issues solved in one shot: lower speed, better cornering, no mechanicals during races, comfort. Only the speed freaks will be sad.
