Dune 2000 was a bit of a sleeper. Good times!

I’m way behind on the vods, but I’m getting a glimmer of the path ahead and it’s enticingly dark!

One of my favorite sayings is that you can’t set yourself on fire to keep other people warm. Be kind, be caring, but don’t omit yourself from that same courtesy.

I’d *like* to be an overpriced (and confusing and too small) juicer/blender. Too annoying to use, so I could just sleep, forgotten, in the back of a cabinet. Too expensive to ever throw out, though, to avoid going to the dump.

Not just signs, gigantic billboards with blaring klaxons screaming into the sky. Ignoring them is a choice, there is no room for claims of ignorance at this point.

That word always reminds me of that line from Buffy where Anya describes someone as a load-bearing bar matron.

100% this, at least in a lot of the cases where companies are suddenly crowing about AI this and that. Line must go up!

That sounds like obeying in advance. I would prefer the MAGA crowd have to fight for every inch they’re trying to take.

The key here is that the audience is on the hook for being a good faith listener. Ie, be willing to assume good intentions, ask follow-ups when possible, and leave agendas at the door.

Adorable! I’ve only heard of them in song and tale (ie, on the podcast) before now. Happy holiday season!

At the national level, the Democratic Party is much more interested in conserving power and resisting change than in representing their constituents. This model results in inherently conservative and anti-populist politicking and campaigning.

If you’re amenable to something a bit different, this song always makes me feel nostalgic for a time I’m not sure ever existed: youtu.be/yAv5pLO37mE?...

A ban on interstate travel, for any reason, is chilling. And this reason is just terrible. Ugh.

Sometimes I feel more like a broad index of references than a subject matter expert (other than in career-related topics). Said another way, I know just enough to be obnoxious. 😅

Based on that egg laying behavior, is this a parasitoid wasp?

I like to make “bologna bowls” by microwaving it. I’ve accepted that I’m a monster for perpetrating this crime.

Ok, I’m calling dice “dungeon rocks” from here on out.

Like anything else one practices a lot, writer’s block can become a habit. Ask me how I know! Non-zero days are about the only antidote, but it can be tough to even manage that, some days.

It’s the absurdity of it all that gets to me, sometimes.

The other site is like mentally drinking from a firehose of loud static. It’s much less abrasive here, so far.

I’m not sure I’d be able to stop laughing at the idea long enough to say anything coherent.

Can’t wait to live there.
