Totally without fame and influence, but interested in surviving. Live in the Rhondda, think complexity and reflection addresses much and simple, fatuous assertions solve very little. Creativity is survival, the greater good is why.

They are deliberately crossing the red lines, in order to make the unacceptable commonplace and, eventually, acceptable again.

“Trump claimed that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent travelled to Kyiv by train but that "Zelensky was sleeping" and could not meet him. “In reality, Zelensky met with Bessent at Mariinskyi Palace. Multiple photographs were taken and published of their meeting.”

open.substack.com/pub/willhayw... The small nations matter because they can quietly shift big things. My small nation seems to have to realise this yet. Thanks, Will Hayward.

🌳The Crowhurst Yew, thought to be 4,000 years old, predates Christianity itself. A living portal through time. 🕰️It’s one of the locations in my Ultimate Guide to Time Travel: 10 Places That Confound the Time Continuum. Step inside: www.digest.andymarshall.co/the-ultimate...

Question Time last night was pretty fierce. And had to be. There's a deliberate effort now to shift the ground: towards appeasement, inhumanity and authoritarianism. Once more, we must resist it. We must fight hard for kindness. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

Good morning to this man, and this man only #bbcqt

☀️ Light and shade: the sacristy door at the Queen of Holderness, St. Patrick, Patrington, Yorkshire. I waited patiently for the shadows to align. The silhouette of curvilinear tracery from the stained glass casts a presence of absence, echoing forms both here and not here.

Keir Starmer must speak out. David Lammy must speak out. Another red line crossed - they must condemn Donald Trump's plans.

1. I know this will cause me trouble, but it dismays me to see fellow environmentalists dismissing Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) out of hand, in some cases clearly before they have understood the technologies involved or their potential uses. 🧵

‘the plans for development of the outlying regions of the Galaxy require the building of a hyperspatial express route through your star system, and regrettably your planet is one of those scheduled for demolition. The process will take slightly less than two of your Earth minutes. Thank you.’

The more I see figures like Zuckerberg suggesting that men are naturally aggressive, the less I believe in a difference between toxic masculinity and patriarchy.

Spain is acting against people from other countries coming in to take over their housing and economy. Aren’t such people called economic migrants? So: Some buy refuge, others ask for it. The debate has two sides, things do. But it is the same debate.

@labourlewis's Water Bill will have its first debate on 28th March. This is our unmissable chance to put public ownership of water back on the table. Ask your MP to be there and back the Bill: actionnetwork.org/letters/ask-...

Absolutely spot on from Rory Stewart

This morning’s sunshine has reminded me of the word ‘philocaly’: a love of beauty, even in the smallest things.

Ive said this before. Unions have a moment in time to create parallel, Non Profit Trust or Associated Health Plans and offer them to small to medium size businesses. Unions can negotiate far better than SMBs or associations . Imagine if millions got their healthcare from unions ? Thoughts ?

The Land Use Framework consultation government is launching is necessary and important. We urgently need to make strategic national decisions about what should go where: to restore ecosystems, stop urban flooding and better plan development.

Back to statues (again)… the past is gone, we weren’t there and don’t (can’t) know. All we have is history which, often, just gets told to suit a present convenience. To me real history is a very hard discipline focussed on the truth however unpalatable now.

You scratch my back; I’ll scratch yours. Case was worst Cabinet Secretary I can ever recall. Completely failed in his duty to uphold the core principles of the UK civil service- integrity, honesty, objectivity and impartiality. Played a huge role in the growing rot of our political establishment.
