She and the Minority Leader are my representatives. I've emailed both. Throughout history, appeasement has never been a winning strategy nor is it a galvanizing cause to rally the power of the people in an effort to save the concept of self-governance.

How is this even real?! The fact that it was printed is incensing. The fact that this is even a topic conversation is repulsive.

I can't confidently say @schumer.senate.gov is wrong. But, I can confidently say he hasn't explained why he's right — and that's the problem. How can you represent the people when you can't represent your decisions/positions? In this environment, messaging is important and he seems to be inept at it

It doesn’t have to stay like this It doesn’t have to stay like this It doesn’t have to stay like this It doesn’t have to stay like this It doesn’t have to stay like this It doesn’t have to stay like this It doesn’t have to stay like this It doesn’t have to stay like this

Rubio's gutting of USAID is illegal and unconstitutional. There is no form of democracy anywhere of any kind that would allow the executive branch to unilaterally cancel budgets and programs passed by the legislative branch and signed into law. It's utter lawlessness.

Democracy dies in decorum.

Some of his readers have asked Mike Masnick @mmasnick.bsky.social why his technology news site, Tech Dirt, has been covering politics so intensely lately. www.techdirt.com/2025/03/04/w... I cannot recommend Mike's reply enough. It's exactly what readers need to hear, what journalists need to do.

Just because you don’t call yourself a yt-supremacist doesn’t mean you aren’t one…. Watch what they do, not what they say

Nobody’s ‘sposed to be here…

The Supreme Court decision should have been 9-0. The fact it was 5-4 reveals how utterly compromised the bench is in favor of right-wing authoritarianism.

This is the crazy part, how are people so brazenly advocating for a monarchy as if that’s normal? I know some people want a unitary executive, but my God….

Donald Trump was caught on a hot mic thanking Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts Tuesday night after delivering a speech to Congress. “I won’t forget it,” he added.

NEW: When the Trump Admin abruptly cancelled almost all USAID programs, it also refused to pay $2bln the U.S. govt owes **for work that’s been done.** One of the cut-off programs in Syria couldn’t afford security and was robbed by masked men. www.propublica.org/article/trum...

That was both shockingly chilling and telling actually. I was startled. He clearly has some understanding this won't go well.

Being able to drop a quarterly US GDP prediction by 5.1% from +2.3% to -2.8% in a single week is one of the most impressive economic developments in the history of the world.

Former 🇺🇸 ambassador to Russia 👇🏽

And it makes me sick that so many of my fellow citizens are enabling his delusions of grandeur.

This people as props thing is so gross...I didn't expect to be so viscerally, physically disgusted. This is even more vile than when the lunatics smeared their feces on the wall on January 6, 2021.

Al Green stood up. Would like to see more people stand up.

Oh, now we're dragging people out of the SOTU. Democrats, your job is not to be quieter because Al Green got dragged out. It's your job to get LOUDER.

Remember folks, they’re not just tariffs, they’re Trump Tariffs. Get the message right.

Vomit-worthy…..but remember, Ruby Bridges is only 70 years old….the past is present

Ready Fire Aim is a lousy way to govern.

This needs to be amplified.

looking back everything went to shit when Schoolhouse Rock stopped airing

I won’t serve a king…

Incompetence in Washington puts every American at risk, no matter how you voted. No one should be happy that the DOGE team - the same folks who randomly published classified U.S. security information online today - wants access to your bank account & Social Security numbers.

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges. This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

i am going to put a finer point on this: executive orders are not laws. and they certainly are not royal decrees. they are interpretations of existing law for the purposes of enforcement. the fact that so many people are treating them as laws is actually driving me a bit insane.

The CFPB is one of the American people’s best defenses against waste, fraud, and abuse. Demolishing it will, of course, lead to more waste, fraud, and abuse.

can't wait to see Susan Collins' reaction when judges Susan Collins voted to confirm uphold the illegal actions of executive branch officials Susan Collins voted to confirm on the rationale that their illegal actions will be blocked by the judges Susan Collins voted to confirm.

Ignore the media headlines reporting that freezing federal spending or shuttering federal agencies “raise questions” or “push boundaries.” It’s an anticonstitutional lawbreaking spree.

"Elon Musk is not the president, but it appears that he—a foreign-born, unelected billionaire who was not confirmed by Congress—is exercising profound influence over the federal government of the United States...It is nothing short of an administrative coup." www.theatlantic.com/technology/a...

It’s pretty insane that a private citizen can come in, hijack federal government servers, fire people, and steal their PII.

There is simply no plausible argument that the president has the constitutional authority to refuse to spend appropriated funds because he doesn’t like how the money is being spent. The legality of policy impoundments is just not a close question.

Marching orders from Timothy Snyder’s On Tyranny.

Basically, the country’s been taken over by a bunch of internet trolls and podcasters who thought running the government would be as easy as complaining about it.
