Save the date for March 15th at 11am at Foley Square!

At some point, either on his way out the door if that ever happens or some time sooner, there will be mass pardons so sweeping they make the Jan 6 one look tiny, for all the crimes they're doing, and there will be no overcoming that short of some kind of repudiating Trump's legitimacy as president.

None of us can be sure what will “work.” You try multiple things and find your way in. Read some histories of the Civil Rights Movement by those who participated. They were never “sure” of what would work. Some campaigns fizzled out. But persistence, creativity, determination, and focus were key.

So far, criminals who have had their prosecutions cancelled or reversed because they support Trump or gave him money include: -an online darknet drug kingpin -a pair of Romanian sex traffickers -a major crypto fraudster -a congressional Republican who beat up his mistress

It's like a Russian nesting doll of illegality: Musk holds no office running DOGE, DOGE has no lawful authority to direct OPM, and OPM has no legal power to insert itself in the chain of command from agency heads to their employees.

Our system of checks and balances has stood as a bulwark against tyranny for 250 years. The way it works is no one man can dictate how our government works. Congress makes laws, the president executes the laws, and courts make sure laws and rights are protected. We give that up at our peril.

New York/NJ, it's time to get ready. There's a 1000 bed concentration camp coming to Newark. www.thecity.nyc/2025/02/27/i...

PEPFAR was the one great accomplishment of George W. Bush, but apparently he’s going to sit by quietly as Trump destroys it.

Fealty to Donald Trump will not spare you from his cruelty. It's strength — not weakness — that curbs his baser instincts. Now is the time for us to be strong.

there is really going to be no option but to prosecute these people the second they are out of power if we ever want a chance to fix this country

The NYPD seized a shipment of ‘Most Wanted CEO’ playing cards en route from manufacturer to the creator to ship out to customers. The NYPD is currently led by Jessica Tisch, who comes from one of the country’s wealthiest families & took particularly intense issue with the cards.

What is wrong with Senate Democrats? There is a five-alarm Article I constitutional crisis. No votes. No attending joint session Trump speeches. No normal operations at all until all the illegal stealing of Congress’ authority stops. Why is this so hard?

No more work-from-home, government workers, except for Kash Patel, who will run the FBI from Las Vegas www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

This is an astonishing story. Trump's personal lawyers, now in government, are trying to find any prosecutor take on a case to stop payment of $20 billion in funds by claiming there is fraud. The fact that career prosecutors are resigning rather than do so tells you how weak the case is.

Not being sarcastic or glib, but what is the point of destruction like this? What does Musk gain from doing this? Is it really as shallow an explanation as “I want to just destroy everything.” But … for what? I get the attack on USAID, or the FAA, or DOJ. But what does this … do?

Musk’s hackers burglarized "a vast trove of information about the entire federal workforce” on OPM computers even as Trump was being sworn in — that is "hours before Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, was officially created by an executive order.” www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

We have seen two impeachment worthy stories break today alone. Incredible levels of corruption and lawlessness. www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

Everything is an enormous scandal. There are several tonight alone. No exaggeration.

People always say: "if libraries didn't already exist, you could never create them today." Well, lots of the stuff MAGA nihilists are destroying right now is like that. We're not just going to put it all back in place when this if over. It's going to take *generations* to repair this shit.

BREAKING The SEC has just halted its fraud prosecution of Justin Sun, a Chinese national who has put more than $50 million in Trump's pocket since November through the purchase of crypto tokens from a Trump-backed company, World Liberty Financial.

NEW YORK CITY! Join us on SATURDAY, MARCH 1 at 1PM outside TESLA, 860 Washington Street, at the corner of West 13th St. We made a TOOLKIT 👉 bit.ly/TeslaToolkit so you can download posters and share online. NOBODY VOTED FOR MUSK #TeslaTakedown #StopTheCoup #PeopleWithDisabilities #RiseandResist

The NWS is some of the best bang-for-our-buck we get as taxpayers. Completely free, lifesaving forecasts cost us about $3 each a year and delivery at least $40 worth of benefit to each of us. That is a pretty damn good return on investment.

Matt Gaetz was almost AG and allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old girl, Trump bragged about walking in on Miss Teen USA contestants, Linda McMahon is being sued for allegedly enabling sexual abuse of children, and RFK allegedly groped a babysitter. (These are only the accusations related to minors)

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is carrying up to $1.2 million in credit card debt, according to recent financial disclosures. www.cnbc.com/2025/02/07/w...

The Tablet, a prominent Jewish American magazine, is publishing straight up genocide apologia:

Andrew Tate being allowed to come to the U.S. and avoid facing trial for sex trafficking in Romania is beyond stomach-churning. This man is a HUGE influencer and uses his platform/following to further abuse women who have accused him. Now he won’t face justice, reaffirming his lies to his followers

#BREAKING Putin says Russia-US contacts give 'hope'

US officials knew about, and did not oppose, that secret UK order that tried to force Apple to weaken iCloud encryption, and now DNI Tulsi Gabbard says the UK order would violate Americans’ rights, @joemenn.bsky.social reports www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

Musk is actively undermining air safety, potentially causing crashes, then awarding himself a $2.4 billion contract to fix what he is breaking? This is not conflict of interest, this is criminal insanity! Amount of money Musk is stealing from US is bigger than all his “savings” combined.

one of less attractive features of my liberal bubble might have been a tendency to exaggerate the wickedness of their antagonists on the nativist right, but then (again h/t @samfr.bsky.social substack) you read something like this www.splcenter.org/resources/ha... and wonder: what exaggeration?

The large clinical trial of a new Covid vaccine pill (not shot) was halted by RFK Jr www.aol.com/multimillion... The Covid nasal vaccines may be next up to be axed.

Not a drill www.nytimes.com/2025/02/26/u...

“it’s just a supply-and-demand issue that’ll drive down the value of that real estate considerably.” And that’s the point. Now who in Trump world is sitting there waiting to swoop in and gobble up all of that depressed government property? Hmmm. www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

Yes, this Cabinet — with a Fox & Friends drunk, a Real World airhead, a former heroin addict who beheaded a whale, a dog killer, a Russian stooge, a scandal-plagued wrestling executive, etc — this Cabinet is LITERALLY the best America has ever had. Thank you for that insight, Elon. Smart as ever.

For NYC folks, there's a protest scheduled for saturday at 1pm at the Tesla dealership in the meatpacking district, if anyone else is interested in going.

Here is Rep. Nicole Malliotakis calling 264,000 of her own constituents “criminals” and “fraudsters”.

Is it bad if only 78 percent of Trump-loyal Republicans view democracy positively but 55 percent view an unchecked strongman positively? Asking for a fairly large nation. Gift link: wapo.st/4hLudP3

Senator, welcome to Bluesky. Can you explain why you're sponsoring a bill to repeal Section 230, which would effectively make it impossible for Bluesky to do what it's doing today, creating this kind of space? Thanks. www.techdirt.com/2025/02/21/w...

BREAKING Project 2025 leader and current OMB head Russ Vought directs all agencies to create plans for large-scale layoffs ("Reductions in Force") by March 13.

I just realized, with a shock, that I already knew this from watching “Better Call Saul.”

A seven-byline story from WaPo: “.. Over the years, Musk and his businesses have received at least $38 billion in government contracts, loans, subsidies and tax credits ..” @washingtonpost.com $TSLA www.washingtonpost.com/technology/i...

Musk explicitly says he wants to turn America into El Salvador where a strongman has consolidated power, undermined judicial independence, harassed journalists, and suspended constitutional rights

The calls for authoritarianism from the world's richest man grow more fervent

Pritzker: "We're talking about the death of a constitutional republic. That's what happened in Germany in 1933, 1934. And we're seeing today that we've got an administration in Washington that's ignoring court orders."

when did the acting DOGE administrator become the acting DOGE administrator when did the acting DOGE administrator become the acting DOGE administrator WHEN DID THE ACTING DOGE ADMINISTRATOR BECOME THE ACTING DOGE ADMINISTRATOR

Regular White House reporters would never do anything this courageous.
