If you are found guilty by a jury of your peers with forensic evidence and other than solely eye witness testimony(which are what made up recent DR cases that were overturned) you're not innocent. So many convicts proclaim innocense when they're not, but that's a sociological matter, not a legal one

You're being disingenuous and misquoting me, but I know you haven't studied the cases, because many of the minority cases were murder of an inmate or guard. Remove them to focus on murder outside the penal system and the white percentage shoots up. Keep trying, you might get a solid rebuttal in.

We're talking about the federal system and federal clemency, so yes, monolithic thinking is appropriate. As states find their populace doesn't need the punishment, let them strike it as they see fit. But we're not talking about states.

Now you're changing the subject and making assumptions. Yes, racial bias and racism has led to a disproportionate number of minorities put to death but use of DNA has helped to mitigate that. 45% of death row is white and the largest racial group, so yo can't use racial bias on the federal system.

You've literally answered your own question. Societies evolve past harsh retributive penalty when society evolves. Violent states haven't evolved to that point and America is an exceptionally violent country compared to 'western' nations. Cmon that's Criminology 101 shit.

Ah the sly racism jab, for when one can't actually debate a subject. If you want to reset the discussion and state some cogent rebuttals, cool. If not, ciao. I'm not doing this social media back and forth with someone who doesn't have knowledge of the subject.

The red herring won't work with me mate. Your argument is that is solves nothing and that's factually incorrect. Society determined that murder warrants losing your life so the punishment does what it's intended to do. You seem to disagree with it on humanitarian reasons. Just say that and move on.

Easy to be holier than thou when you're someone who likely has never had a family member taken away by murder.

The Tree of Life synagogue mass murderer, Dylan Roof and the Boston Marathon bomber deserve clemency? Come off it mate.

It's meant to be retributive and equal to the violation, not stop future acts. So, it does exactly what was intended.

Prior to the 14th amendment, black people were not considered people. We don't want to see ANY right revoked, because it starts a slippery slope.

Most of the blame lies in the mass production and distribution of food in America. You don't see these outbreaks in Europe, where food tends to be largely local. But let's cut regulation around food, right?

Having lived there as a non-Christian, it's already a repressive theocracy, where the evangelicals prosthelytize and spread faux 'grace'. But frankly, they can have Texas.

More mealy mouthed bs from Dems. Just once, I'd love to see dems show the fervent support for their candidate the GOP does.

Unfortunately, dems are too chicken shit to play the politics game. Civility is over and it's time to put the unethical GOP on defense.
