Actor, director, teacher. Not always in that order. Not famous, but open to it. Mets fan since…let’s just say a long time ago.

Guy Pearce has been famous for almost 30 years. Priscilla, Queen of the Desert was his international calling card, then LA Confidential a few years later made him a star. A few more years later, Memento, which brought worldwide attention to the writer-director, too…Christopher Nolan. A cool career.

I think that mirrors the way opinion has changed, critically, over the years. My brain tells me that the early Rolling Stone Record Guide, which I read cover to cover, listed it as three out of five stars. Critics saw Miss You as selling out to disco. Over time, they realized it was way cooler…

This is my favorite Stones album as well, and when I say that, oh the looks I get. I think it’s an age thing. These were my Stones. Not the mid-60s Stones, not the early 70s Stones. 1978. That was MY Stones…Shmatta, Shmatta, Shmatta…I can’t give it away on 7th Avenue…also, my NYC…😏

My dad was in his 70s, and I was visiting him, and I can still here the joy in his voice when he asked me (I’m in my early 20s and a music and MTV junkie), “have you seen this Paul Simon music video with Chevy Chase? I love it.”
It was the first time I’d ever heard him say “music video”

He played a long time, and not only crowd surfed, but stood right among us as we sang with him.
He was awesome.
I am very sad to hear this…

He came to SUNY Binghamton when I was there with Dave Mason as his opening act. This odd pairing meant that several thousand people left after Mason finished. Johansen was nonplussed, reminded us that the 700 of us who stayed were clearly the coolest people in Bingotown, and proceeded to kill it.

Very happy to see Anora there. I just voted for that movie in the SAG Awards. I think Sean Baker is an incredibly good writer/directoe

Cats are the best. Even though they’re plotting our death while we sleep.

It’s always weird when you put them together and then it tells the reason why they’re together…and you weren’t thinking anything close to that.

Rock and roll. One of my favorites of all time, goofiness and all. In a time when life as hard, I sent him a note to just thank him for years of always making life a little better. He sent me a handwritten note on Ramada Inn stationary, from the road, as it were. This album was my initiation.

Big, big fan. Read his bio…he mentions my sister. She says he’s a terrific person.

My memory tells me that INXS was not highly regarded by record reviewers, like Rolling Stone, back in the day, but it feels that as time has passed, they have grown in stature. There might be two dozen or so songs of theirs that the second I hear them, I’m smiling. Wish I’d seen them.

She’s the only one there who gets it. And the only one ballsy enough to let everyone know.

Good song. Picking an absolute favorite is hard, but one of my favorites ever, ever, ever, is “Girl of My Dreams” by Bram Tchaikovsky. I have it in the original vinyl, and a couple of mixed tapes I made in COLLEGE.

I know it won’t happen, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Trump spending his first year back in a prison cell.

I do. In 1980-I’m pretty sure about this year-I was spending time at my friend’s apt near the Chelsea Hotel, and at about 2:00 in the morning, the entire band Madness, burst through the door. Somehow, he knew them. The next 12 hours are a bit of a blur…but my brain tells me I had fun.

Absolutely agree. One of my favorite albums of his. Tunnel of Love is a particular fave, too. So is Tunnel of Love by Dire Straits.
Maybe I just like Tunnels of Love. Tunnel of Loves? …hmm

No. But I booed the TD from Elliott. I needed either Dowdle or Lamb to bring it home. Serves me right. A Giants fan who needs the Cowboys to come through for him in FF, FFS.
