He's an amazing actor, He was so nice to the team of" No Other Land" when they were walking up the stage to receive their award! Memento and the adventures of Priscilla, for me, are two of the best movies he has done. He's Australian.
I didn’t know this. I have always respected these choices and it caused me to think of him as caring more about the work than fame. So interesting he did soaps prior.
Movie was not good and has some weird things to saw about the Jewish identity. Brody and Pearce are really, really good in it though. That said, go watch Memento! Pearce was great in Memento and the movie rules.
You should check out his filmography, he's fantastic. Memento & LA Confidential are great, but the one that I'll never forget was Ravenous with Guy and Robert Carlyle.
His arc wasn’t necessarily the best (although fun to see him do a before and after thing with rich nerd turned glam or whatever) but overall the movie is (unsurprisingly given Shane Black) filled with fun lines and cool action.
Seriously: going back for the Neighbours finale after 33 years and acting a full storyline (not a cameo) where you’ve clearly thought hard about who your soap opera character became during the intervening decades is commitment to the craft and gratitude to the place you came from.
I'm literally just reading this thread and It's 4pm here and Neighbours has just started on my mothers TV with the old familiar theme song. Sad it's been cancelled again
Priscilla; Queen of the Desert / LA Confidential / Memento / Jack Irish / Mare of Easttown / Alien: Covenant / Brimstone / The Brutalist / Promethius / Mildred Pierce / The Kings Speech / Animal Kingdom / The Hurt Locker … and that’s about 1/2 of them
I can't believe in the schooling of who this legend is, no one has mentioned Lawless. Watch it and The Proposition,
both Nick Cave films both seriously excellent.
Then watch Priscilla, cause you'll need some light and laughter after that....
Guy Pearce has been famous for almost 30 years. Priscilla, Queen of the Desert was his international calling card, then LA Confidential a few years later made him a star. A few more years later, Memento, which brought worldwide attention to the writer-director, too…Christopher Nolan. A cool career.
You should watch at least one Guy Pearce movie, and you should start with LA Confidential.
A perfect ensemble cast and a story that has the best parts of classic film noir without the censorship. There’s mystery, betrayal, confidence games where you’re not sure who’s being conned, femmes fatales…
That's Guy Pierce - though I just had to look his name up again; but I was just idly skimming the Oscar pic list on ze Guardian and realised, hey, that Australian is actually a cool Australian - noted by a person who fled Australia/Australians.

and prometheus!!
and that mentos commercial!!!
Btw, they're working on a sequel
Avoid 90s episodes of Neighbours. You'd have to have been there
He then takes two really brave roles where he most certainly isn't a teenage heartthrob
He was also good as the evil space billionaire in Prometheus. Evil space billionaires being back in vogue now.
I second the motion.
After all, we have a Nazi running the country, so.
Iron Man 2, on the other hand…
But iron man 3, like all Shane black films, is kinda hilarious and great.
both Nick Cave films both seriously excellent.
Then watch Priscilla, cause you'll need some light and laughter after that....
Anyway, Free Palestine.
