My apartment had an entry door with a defective bar (that would lock the door down). They had tons of signs like this. Someone would do it *at least* once a week. They just replaced that door π€£.
That's the design failure here. Most doors like that open when you push the bar, so people are doing that mindlessly and setting off the emergency exit alarms.
I worked at Rite Aid until they closed this summer. There were NO LESS than 50 huge, yellow signs in and around the building. People asked us EVERY DAY if we were closing. Personally, I think this setup needs at least 4 more.
This might seem ridiculous but I worked retail and all the signs on the door didnβt help people figure out how to enter or exit! We have more idiots than can be believed! Sure cut education funding that will help!
Work in a building with a revolving door, which members of the public excel at destroying on a regular basis, leaving only the disabled access door working. Put this up, then as I was taping the revolving door off (which people tried to cross WHILE I WAS TAPING) and people still asked how to open it
People refuse to read anything! My daughter deals with this every damn day. Infuriating. They most likely can't read or believe this does not apply to them.
Literally have something kind of like this at work and you'd be amazed after 2 years that you almost have to tell every other person as they stand there in amazement

Narrowly missed a tragic incident there!

β¦Iβd end up trying to PULL that door open! π
And the fact i tried to push a pull door yesterday is irrelevant :)

I mean, I'm not speaking from personal experience or anything.
Please send help.
The button should be on the fucking door.
